Honestly this process reminds me of the trouble I had with my XJR. Especially when Isaac talks about no clear order of operations. Everything is super cramped, poor access and zero visibility. Its funny because on a V engine, superchargers right on top are such a fantastic packaging solution. But on inline engines, they hang off the side, block access, add all sorts of headaches.

I love that MCM still keeps their videos relatable to the average car enthusiast. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the other big channels dump hundreds of thousands of dollars into to cars that I'll likely never see and certainly never will be able to afford. (Kinda like the Up GTI 😂) Years ago I would watch Marty and Moog as I was saving up to buy my first clapped out project (1989 Toyota Corolla) they gave me a sense of "hey I can actually do that in my garage" on a very limited budget, paint the wheels, detail the interior, slap a worn out WRX turbo on it and pray it doesnt explode. My hope is that there is someone out there today who is inspired the same way. Thanks for the years of entertainment gentlemen, your dedication to the car community is unparalleled 👍

carbon sheet + epoxy is cheap easy diy thing you can use to fix plastic fenders and such. tape it together the right shape, sand and slap cf in the back, it'll be stronger than before. if it's abs, you can use abs+acetone jelly instead of epoxy, it'll melt in. the cf+epoxy is a nice way to fix broken bolt tabs too, don't worry about it being tricky to keep the hole open, just drill it with a hand drill after it's cured. be mindful of the cf and plastic when sanding. the cf will easily start to de-strand, don't worry about that too much. keeping some cf and 2 part epoxy around is pretty cheap you can get enough for a lot of fixes for few tenners.

It was the FWD V6 model with the old styled wedge heads. Where the plugs are next to the exhaust manifold, not in the middle of the valve covers. This was when long lasting plugs had came out so they only needed to be changed every 100k. Thankfully.

This style of roots positive displacement rotors can also be used in another way: to measure the flow of gas. Instead of having a pully drive the gas, you can have the gas drive the blower and measure the rotation of the gears. You'll need high precision machining on all parts to make it accurate. It's a very common type of gas flow meter in light industrial applications. The downside of them is they'll cause pulsation as pockets of gas are released from the rotors with every rotation. This can be somewhat reduced by having two (or more) sets of rotors out of phase with one another.

Reminds me of the old SC12/SC14 from the MR2 etc & probably a aftermarket copy. EM clutch on the input side, coated rotors and a oil supply though on the Toyota they were supplied engine oil via lines. On that note, the coating on the rotors looks done and the rotor sealing might be poor, and they're not much use above 10psi of boost anyway. I had a SC12 on a 750 suzuki bike, perfect for that.

One other thing, I don't re-use bearings, even if they seem OK, but especially if they've come out of something that didn't have any oil in it - look for the code on the seal and buy new ones. They are probably the cheapest parts you'll ever need to buy for a build. By the way when are you going to mod a proper R34 Nur???
