To be honest that ambush looked really bad. That corner looked like exelent place to place IED as a start of ambush.

It helps the most to know who's talking to who first. Then a lot of the other stuff will begin to make more sense by itself. Their callsigns all start with a "1" because they're all in 1st platoon. 1-1 in squad 1, 1-2 in squad 2, etc... I haven't watched the whole thing yet but I'm assuming Karma is 1-6. A 6 almost always signifies leadership. 1-7 will be 1-6's "assistant" and replace him if he dies or can't complete his duties basically. If they were in 2nd platoon, they'd all be 2-1, 2-2, etc... Same with 2-6 and 2-7 "6" on it's own is gonna be the company commander. "7" will be his assistant and replace him if he dies or can't complete his duties as well. A company is made up of multiple platoons plus other assets and whatnot. These are just the infantry call signs. When someone initiates comms with someone else, they'll state the name of who they're trying to reach, and then their own name, and then wait for response. The Receiver of the message will then respond with the calling squads name, and then their own, to signify that both parties are talking to the correct people and that they're now available and listening. For example, squad 1 of platoon 1 (party one for simplicity) wants to talk to Squad 4 of platoon 2 (party two for simplicity.) Party one: "2-4, this is 1-1" Party two: "1-1, go for 2-4" Party one: "whatever their message is for Party 2" You can usually omit stuff like "This is" before you state your squad name, as it's implied already so it's a waste of breath and can slowdown comms. "Break" is basically a pause in speech over the radio where you don't want the other party to begin talking yet, as you have more to say. It's used when you either need a second to think about what you're going to say next, or just as a spacer between sentences (like a new paragraph) "Repeat" or "I repeat" should never be used over the radio to ask someone to repeat what they're saying, as it is used exclusively to repeat a previous barrage from artillery/mortar/fire support/indirect fire(etc.. you get the picture lol). You don't want someone to hear that on the net and mistake it for an actual repeat barrage order. So you'll usually hear "Say again" or something along those lines. In this case idk if they even have someone fulfilling this role so it might not matter, but in bigger ops (like on the Arma 3 server) it becomes a big deal lol "SitRep" is just shortform for "Situation Report"

QRF is whoever's close enough to help. QRF should always be on standby when units deploy on a mission, but the QRF can only get there with whatever they have. The "Q" in QRF does mean "quick" but it should really stand for "quickest available" lol

Been in the Army since 2014… we use the same engine as Arma 3(the developers made it for us) and we will do virtual simulated convoy training a couple times a year. Gets you used to sectors of fire, what to do with your vehicle etc so yeah it translates
