Using animal models in the lab to study the mechanisms of blast-related brain injury, researchers like Dr. Lee Goldstein are feeling optimistic that their findings will lead to viable treatments.
Does the blastfrom weapons fire damage the brain also? Like for instance the backblast of an m136 or the blast coming from a heave machinegun? I don't think they have the same "blast wind" which gives a powerfull shock. But might the smaller effects accumulate over time?
