When I travel and want to source - I pack my personal things in a small carry on size suitcase then put it inside of a giant empty suitcase and check it, so when I arrive I have an empty giant suitcase to pack all of my inventory in- then travel home with two full suitcases- It works out great! Thank you for always sharing such helpful info- you are an inspiration.

I think the pallet game is a losing battle unless you have a lot of capital to play with. I personally don't want to hold on to any items for 5 years, but it does happen. This will be the year that the strong resellers will survive, as the reselling game has changed so much.

I am so glad you brought up that you are sharing what you like to do outside of motherhood. As a mother myself I know that our children are obviously the most important priority but when I hear comments like that it makes me think society wants motherhood to be our only identity. I think it’s so important to continue to do what you love and be your own person outside of motherhood.

Everything you said is soooooo true! Some of the big sellers can sell the liquidated stuff (that no one wanted the first go-round) but the rest of us, meh, we aren't going to get much and it's going to take a looooooooong time. I'm seeing some of the larger sellers stressing on camera lately too. I feel bad for them. It makes me thankful I did not buy too much. I have bought small reseller lots from some of those sellers and two off the popular liquidators online and the stuff just sits. Lessons learned. I do this very part time as a hobby that I do hope to make extra money with one day but I'm not quite there yet. It's hard work finding the things that will make a profit. Takes a lot of knowledge and time. And sidenote! I think with the rising cost of shipping it is knocking out a whole class of things we used to be able to resell. When shipping is as much as the item, no one is going to buy it. So my opinion, if it's low dollar, you need to put two or three other items within that one listing or only pick up more expensive items.

I live somewhere where thrift stores are mainly low prices and I am able to thrift top tier mall brands and some designer pieces (depending on how many times I go thrifting). I want to become a thrift wholesaler for a few people, but what advice would you give to someone who wants to make a buyer’s life better? I was a Goodwill trainer and boutique manager, so I’m already a master in style, brand, and quality 😉 I just love thrifting more than selling after decades of working the sales floors.

Thanks for the content and for the tips as a new reseller is honestly brutal to compete with other resellers that are doing shows I’m still not there yet I started in posh and Mercari. I like posh but why some days I have so much traffic and then is like a week dead 🫠. I’m thinking to start on eBay but I’m scared of shipping .listing takes quite some time gets overwhelming. OMG, I am just like you! I tell my partner all the time. Even if we hit the Powerball I'm still going to source inventory, I absolutely love shopping. It's to the point where we have sooo much inventory atm that he told me I need to, at the very least, list a couple of the boxes before I should thrift anymore, lol. MIAMI!!! Be careful out there. If you have the old labels from ThredUp, it could be worth shipping to them for the rejected items to be shipped back to you. the new pro labels are prohibitive for this.

Thanks for offering your information and insight! I’ve always thought that about pallets…if it didn’t sell in a store, why would it sell well on the resale market?? Also, I prefer to list a few higher price items rather than lots of low price items. I know it generally takes longer to sell high price items but for me, it’s worth the wait. Miami!

I can tell you do not over do with sourcing. I did that before thinking how my gameplan was gonna go. So now I have sooooooo much inventory and a deathpile I will never get rid of. Any ideas from anyone what to do with it?? I thought of doing whatnot live but I don't have the followers on that channel to do so. I am currently going through it and making piles to do yard sale with, donations, etc. I don't mind listing or photographing at all. I'm part time and I think if I had full-time hours to commit I would do ok at it. Any ideas would help me. Thank you all!!!!

Miami! I have a question....when you travel, what do you do with your eBay and Poshmark, do you put them on vacation mode and make the listings invisible or do you have someone ship items for you? I put my eBay on longer handling times once when I went away and it took forever to start making consistent sales again. Mostly, my daughter can ship items for me but lately she is busier with other things and doesn't live with us now.

I put poshmark on vacation and ebay on longer handling times like you do but when I return I go CRAZY to get things rolling again lol. For example my lister and I will list 30-50 a day between the two of us, I run a sale, send out coupons and doing all of that seems to get things rolling again within a few days. Luckily for this trip I'll only be gone a couple days so it shouldn't be too bad. But when I went to Scotland for 6 days that was more of grind. Took about 5 days to get back to daily sales

I can get 100 items a week. But, 8 thousand is way to much for that few items. A dollar an item is usually the most I’ll pay. You can’t guarantee they will all be worth big money.
