Question: I own a V2 Megatower and have been considering getting the Reserve 31 DH and wanted to get an opinion on getting those (31 DH) vs 30 HD. I’m willing to sacrifice a little bit of pedaling efficiency for more durability and a wheel set even more capable for big hits… I tend to ride very aggressively and break wheels. I’d appreciate a response back as I am looking to pull the trigger and buy a new wheel set from you guys in the next week or so. Thanks.

I would still recommend you the 30 HD. You can do all with it.

@@McLOVIN_456 why would you say that vs the 31 DH? I currently have the SL 30’s that I continue to warranty due to breaking them… I can’t imagine the 31 DH’s hurting pedaling too much on my megatower

⁠@@CouffeeI'm late to the party here, but I have 31 DH rims with 350 hubs on my Mach 6. I'm 155lbs and ride mostly bike parks. My best friend is 220lbs and has 30 SL on his Meta, a purchase he made without my input (I would've told him to get the 31 DH or at least 30 HD. I'm not too happy with our LBS selling him those, but ultimately it's his decision). Anyway, get the 31 DH if you haven't already done so. They're amazing, especially if you're hitting bigger jumps/drops and tech.

@@topspot4834 I appreciate the solid response sir, I previously and still have the 30 sl’s but I kept breaking them (just like ur friend a lbs picked em out for me), but I ultimately pulled the trigger on the 31 DH and slapped my 31 sl’s on my Tallboy. The 31 DH are spectacular. They are super compliant and confidence inspiring blasting through treacherous Gnar and landing off big jumps and drops. I’m sure you’ll concur, but the piece of mind you get with their warranty at Santa Cruz is unreal and I’m excited to see how long I can run these 31 DH into the future.

I have a set of Reserve wheels and they suck. I've broken a couple of spokes within half a year. And now Reserve is not at home. The ' life time warranty' is a joke.
