You should've had your husband present the fire safety tips! I think fall cleaning might be more important than spring cleaning, after all the activities of the summer and before being stuck inside more often during the winter... at least, for me up here in Canada.
All sorts of things! In the fridge there is yogurt, veggies, beef sticks, pickles and more - and in the cabinets we have popcorn, nuts, granola bars, crackers and sometimes fruit snacks. I like to change it up often! ❤️
My 13 year old wants to keep all of his puzzles he puts together. I was framing them but then I couldn’t find frames for some of them so I started putting them on his wall with push pins and gorilla tape. Don’t use gorilla tape on puzzles! They are hard to get down! He wants his room painted so everything has to come down. lol!
A small construction job in my kitchen has been a great opportunity to empty cupboards and clean thoroughly once the construction dust settles. In the process, I am re-organizing and donating items that I no longer want/need.
In Central Texas we have been at about 110 for so long, yesterday’s dip into the 90’s was like a cool front. I went to football pictures and my friend was wearing a long sleeve shirt! Time to build my dog house mansion for my four outdoor dogs. It will be hot here until it is 2 days of fall, then three days of freezing temps!
We use to take our puzzles to thrift shops but out local library has donated puzzles in a section of the library for patrons to come and borrow. We love that so we are not spending money on puzzles. We return them after we are finished. We also cleaned out our supply of puzzles and donated to the library so someone else can enjoy them. Thanks for your ideas!
Great video! We've been shampooing the carpet before it gets cold and it takes too long to dry. I despise carpet, it's so dirty no matter how much you clean it, but we rent for now and have no choice...
I love freshly painted trim, so that’s my extra task for the week. Going to paint throughout the whole house! 🍁. And of course some more decluttering for donations and trash!! Plus we will be going through the garage and shed to complete organization for winter.
These ideas are perfect. I've done many of them already. A few are still on my list to tackle in early September. One task that I really need to do is clean my oven racks. But I want to have a hot day to be able to do it outside. A good scrub and rinse with the hose. I've also scheduled a cleaning for my windows and siding. Takes away all the bugs and webs and dirt from the summer. I had it done last fall, and it made the exterior of the house look new again. I really love your videos! The list at the end is very helpful. Thank you. ❤ 🇨🇦
Lol. “So the kids don’t keep asking me what’s for dinner.” 😅😅 I must’ve missed that class at mom school. Lol. I don’t think cats have that gene. Cat logic. “We’re prob gonna die and I want to know what you’re making or eating and I want some too. And I also want to sample it even when I don’t.” (Always lol). Plz make it stop. Lol. 😂😂 I think maybe that’s a good idea tho. Buy or make more treats than wet cat food or giant meat buckets for meals. Pantry cabinet went kaput and I am still trying to finish the makeover DIY r the new/old one needs. So the “pantry” is sort of all stacked up on a farm end table in the living room for now. I am visiting Incredible Tiny Home village in Newport, TN. Staying at one of the Airbnb “Beach community” homes. I brought my tape measure for when I go tour the models. 😅😅 Although I’m hoping to wrangle at least over 300 sq ft with very little prefab do ups. Kinda like Efficient use of bathroom and kitchen space and the rest is really an open book. Like a studio. The “DIY” steel models are rather like that. All you need to live already done, but you do the sprucing up with things like paint or stucco or trim or whatever you like. Also been taping up in my current house measuring out potential house footage. Lol. You know tho eh? You gotta know what fits where and you gotta also see if you fit easily as well. 😅😅 I got here and I’m like Omg this is too small but here I am laying in the comfy loft queen bed with all I need. (It’s abt the size of my current bedroom…just shorter ceiling. Lol). But I def know I can’t do 8 ft wide. Gonna have to to have at least 10. Lol. On the YT Tours they keep saying you can’t bring everything from your big house to your tiny home. Lol. Now I think I know what they mean. It’s a lovely place but I have to say that rhe XL fridge and the stove and the large tub bath pretty much “clutter” the space. I think abt how spacious it might feel with less of what isn’t really needed or what fits in. Well didn’t mean to go on and on but I’m really thinking hard about whether I can actually do this or not. Lol. But I would be adding 2 very short walls in the middle with barn doors to get the cats off my back for all things food. Lol.
Always excited to hear about your tiny house adventures! Great idea to bring along the tape measure! I always have one with me as well and my husband gets pretty embarrassed when I use it at the store or in a restaurant or something - but I like to understand the scale of things! I think it’s cool that you can ‘test out’ tiny living in the Airbnb! Hope you have a good experience! ❤️
@@ArrowHillCottage Lol. Too funny with the tape measure. For sure Bcuz your mind and eye can play tricks on you and the online pics you see isn’t always what you see in person. Or just what you imagine for your size of furniture you look at in the store may not be accurate for your space. 😅😅 And if you have one constructed, you need to be able to communicate well with the builders and designers. 😬 But I just kind of look at it like standard size appliances. Standard size rooms. Apartment sized items and standard tub and shower sizes and so on. Things I can’t deal with….such as a 32 inch shower or a stove with too little width or height clearance. A too big or too small fridge and then what kind of clearance you’d need for your fave size sofa or the bed size or whatever existing fave furniture you have. There’s just a lot to consider. (And you can’t let “tiny fever” get you all cloudy about just how small you really can feel comfy and not too cramped or inconvenienced in. (Such as nope on a bed loft. I need one floor living and I don’t need a loft short ceiling cutting in on my roofline. But of course things like vaulted ceilings, windows and light and airy cool colors add so much feelings of space too). May be looking at another area on the way back. North GA mountains. 😬 And other options as with being able to buy 3/4 acre lots vs leasing lots and flex type of housing around size and type of homes. (Such as park model size cottage/cabin on wheels or small cottage on a foundation). Bcuz sometimes you may not be sure yet if you want to put down roots or not. So yah. I reckon it’s going to be a bit of a journey before I really know where I’d land more permanently. So we are staying in an 8x28 lofted custom craftsman style home. I find it not wide enough and such. I would need bigger than that. lol. But also I don’t think I’d ever want to go any higher than maybe 800 sq ft and maybe the ideal size is something like 550-650 sq ft (plus a generous screened porch lol). Although I think I could still live quite comfortably in the max park model size (399 Sq ft) plus generous screened porch, of course. So as the saying goes, size matters, but yet bigger is not always better. But you’d need big enough tho. And I have to also say that sufficient width matters too. I don’t think putting it all length wise and narrow width is ideal either. Although I know they often do this Bcuz it’s easier transport for moving it. Does remind me of something like online dating tho. You just don’t really know squat until you see it in real life. You think I love this or they seem cool. But you meet in person and then you may change your mind on a few things lol. 😅😅
