Here's a quick tutorial on how to reset your NCE Decoders to factory specifications. I recently had a decoder that wasn't responding the way I wanted it to. I also use JMRI's Decoder Pro and nothing I did there seemed to help. Here's the right solution for NCE Decoders and how to reset using the NCE Power Cab.

I had problems with mine not running. Tried to reset using cv8 and change it to 8 and it did nothing. Tried your way and it works now. Thanks

Thank you so much!!! I had three locos that were non responsive after I tried programming them... after watching this all locos came back to life with the default setting of "3" unfortunately all locos still won't respond after I program them...🤔😐

You mentioned NCE decoders respond to CV30 set to "2". Does that work for any decoder -ESU, etc? Thanks

Sorry for the delay in this. I suggest you review ESU’s web site for the correct value. This varies by mfg. one source I found indicates that it is CV 8 with a value of 8. But this video was only regarding NCE decoders. Thanks for watching.
