Thank you so much for your help . I watched your video and the orange triangle was removed immediately 😊 (the maintenance reading was driving me nuts lol)
I have a 2020 Rav4 Certified Preowned (3 months with me). I've been receiving letters in the mail about my maintenance services expiring, about deadlines, if I don't call the dealership things will go awry, etc etc even when I didn't sign up for any maintenance service fee or whatever extended service they offer. Now the car is popping these annoying alarms...The dealership does this to keep you attached to them, but in reality you can maintain your car in another place, change your oils, filters, check for sensors lights, clean stuff and properly use your car. Don't get scared from all the messages the dealership will throw at you. Trust your car, and trust your well-maintaining of things, and you will be all right. Now, heading to remove this maintenance reminder light.
There is a reason why car dealers are called Stealerships by older car owners. This BS with the warning lights telling us to “Visit your dealer.” Is not only annoying but borders on Big Brother stuff.
@@stevenwelchtoyotathanks for a great video. Does the menu say which scheduled maintenance is triggering the notification? Is it oil change due? 7287mi on it now. 2024 Rav4 Tire rotation? Tire pressure? How would I know before taking it to the dealer for “do whatever it needs” and get slammed with an unnecessary bill. Thanks
Is the reset maintenance the same thing as an oil change reminder? Because some vehicles have a mileage maintenance reminder in addition to oil maintenance reminder. Like my Toyota Tundra has this.
I have 21 rav4 im getting the maintenance reminder n the dealership told me every 10,000 miles n should i do the 5,000 miles oil change instead of the 10,000?
If you can help me I am trying to get my second channel up to 1000 subscribers. Here is one of the videos on it. I hope you like it. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gGC6xQIHSzk.html
@@jerrystakely8933 mine does the same thing I keep looking apparently it has some to do with the coolant bypass valve and Toyota hasn’t put a recall on it yet 😢
@@stevenwelchtoyota I need to find out about the warranty but I doubt it is. Hmmmm, I’m gonna try replacing the charging cord because it is worn out pretty bad!
This does not work for my 2019 rav. It says maintenance required visit your dealer. Stays on screen and when you press back button it goes away for 5 seconds then reappears. Hooked up a scanner and no codes showing but reset and orange triangle and message goes away for 1 driving cycle and then reappears all over.
is that the real solution? i just only need to do reset it? or i need to see the dealer maybe need to fix something in my car? because i just maintenance my car 3months ago. I hope you may answer my question too? thanks.
Good video but that does not work for me.. it’s killing me it blocks the digital speedometer why just why put something so annoying. I got a 2019 rav4 xle
I have maintenance required for hybrid battery cooling parts at your dealer. I cleaned the filter under the back seat but it showing on dashboard what should I do please?
Interesting. Did that message actually appear on your dash? Mine just says “Maintenance required, visit your dealer” but no other message. I also have a hybrid, so just curious if it actually gives you that whole notification if and when that is the maintenance is needed or if its always just a generic message to visit your dealer.
Any idea of why in my 2020 that message wont go away? Toyota reset it and I also did and that engine maintenance needed keep coming on after 2 or 3 days that was reset it.
I’ve had this persistent issue ever since I purchased my car. I reset it every day and it just keeps appearing when I turn my heat or air conditioning on. Even the dealership reset it yet. It just keeps reappearing, so I’m just adjusting to life with this thing always on. Hopefully they come up with a software fix for this.
@Chris Watson I took it to toyota and they told me it was because of the coolant sensor went bad. They replaced it for $780 dollars and that fixed the issue. No more annoying message.
Were you able to fix the "engine maintenance required" coming back on? I bought a 2020 and that message keeps coming back after reset it. It's annoying.
How do I change when the gas light comes on? Right now it comes on at 20 miles left. I’d like to double that and have it come on at 40 does anyone know??? 2022 Rav 4
I used to work for Toyota and was MDT. I have tried to reset the maintenance light just like you said on a 2020 Rav 4 and Corolla and it says reset then the message comes right back. Do you now have to reset it with a scanner at 30k now. Both have just over 30k.
@@stevenwelchtoyota then something is wrong with the vehicles. I have seen many people complaining about it too. No engine codes no engine light on. Just won't stay cleared. I'm sending them to our local Toyota dealership.
@@stevenwelchtoyota I found out why the maintenance light won't reset. A bad water valve. Doesn't set a code or engine light. Just won't let you reset the maintenance light. It's on a Corolla, Rav 4 , Camry and a few other vehicles
@@stevenwelchtoyota I don't think so. Toyota called it a water valve. They didn't even say what it even does. Just that it was bad. Said they think Toyota will issue a TSB about it soon.
@@stevenwelchtoyota Idk how I would know any of that but I reset it every time I get gas and it shows the history it's been between between 39 &46 since I got the car, but it does depend on if I drive or use the radar cruise control. The computer gets 50mpg but I bring that down with my not good driving.
