@6:05 yes! i completely agree! especially Suntec! Was working in Suntec during APEC 2009, at the end of the summit, all the food that was prepared was thrown away! We were not even allowed to eat or bring home, and mind you, it was trolleys and trolleys of good food! Food that was meant to replace those that had been eaten. In 2018, i was working in an event with a MICE company for one of the conventions and Suntec was the venue provider. At the end of the convention, some of the Suntec staff told us that if we want to eat the food the guests had left, please do, otherwise they will be thrown away. Staff were not allow to eat nor bring home. I thought, after almost 10 years and with the advocation of reducing food wastage, i thought things would be better, and how wrong was I. If any MPs are reading this, please bring up this issue of food wastage again!
This is the kind of mp we want. Approachable, sociable. They need to be more human to serve. Good to have the norms to be challenge and debated. Not like the last election always taichi here taichi there. Theres always an alternative route to reach the destination.
Not easy being a MP, things go smoothly for years no one praises, once smth goes wrong, everyone point fingers and start cursing. No one is out to kill you, MPs are all humans too. And they work 24/7 of the week, I can never 😅
LBW's point about mindless toxic negativity on social media is very real. Yet the whole raison d'etre of a politician's career is to hear feedback, not necessarily just on micro-issues like rubbish chutes but on specific macro policies... I think this shows the need for more official channels for feedback to the incumbent (currently such channels do exist, but from my personal experience using them, are censored / wayang-ed / infantilised to a large extent. Some MPs are also more personally receptive to feedback, and others much less so.)
I wish MP Louis' reply for the one policy without resistance had been to ban smoking in high rise apartments. I am aware he raised this issue twice. Looks like those staying in landed property can't understand what many residents had to endure daily. My neighbour's cigarette smoke permeates my kitchen, living room and bedroom daily. Wish action can seriously be taken about 2nd hand smoke.
i myself work near the window in my room and my dear neighbour from downstairs, smoke constantly (perhaps a chain smoker) at the window. I inhaling all 2nd hand smoke on a daily basis.
Great original content! Will recommend my friend this channel too. It all started with one video and I end up watching almost all the videos in your channel. Keep up the good work 😄
Louis Ng is a really hardworking MP. But sadly, factphobic ppl who not only dont care abt their own health but also health of their family members wont support him.
I sent an email to an opposition party MP and Louis Ng regarding something... Louis responded within 3 days. The opposition party MP never replied me at all and it has been months since I sent the email. The reply really gave me a good impression of Louis.
Yesss he definitely is, i knew him since his ACRES days, a really compassionate, dedicated and responsible kind person. If you want to know how kind a man is, just watch how kind he is to animals, and Louis is one of the most kind n upright, giving n righteous man who would go all out to protect the voiceless, one of the very few man on earth i look up to.
Hi 華姐, I missed your "yellow letters" in my letter box. I like people who are down to earth, no need to put up antenna to read their agenda. Hello Louis 👋 Take care & stay safe.
Lee bee wah told me “aiya u all HDB people always many problem one la” because I looked for her to help on my daughter’s childcare. Shining personalities indeed.
Member of Parliament. You can think of them as district mayors, but because Singapore is so small, MPs essentially hold the same power as congressmen in the US
Not all politicians are well-rested. Their job start very early in the morning and end very late. Its not an easy job esp when you are a Minister. Work until die.
Even just to know them in a glimpse of time thru this segment video ...I believe that this MP had already done such a good job...what singapore today is the result of this two angles...better then our old creature, not former but again n again be n wannabe prime minister...I wish tat particular creature watch this... hahahahaha
Good programme but if Louis can speak slowly, more will watch the video to the end.. Objective of ommunication is to let listener hear what u say and not rushing to finish what u say. This is just a suggestion. NOT a complaint.
