Ne Dim it really isn’t. Had this been canon then 4th Survivor wouldn’t be (but it is because it’s pretty crucial to the plot of RE2). I mean the original release ended with an image of Hunk eating tofu waiting to be picked up, so that’s really the closest Tofu Survivor is to canon.
Dev- The game is almost done what should we do with this collision detection model CEO- reskin it to look like tofu and keep it as unlockable. Dev- WTF.

I love how moist they made tofu look in this version. Makes the bits in the sewer kind of gross. Doesn't look quite as hard as the original version with all those counterattacks, but the fact they kept the tofu survivor at all is freaking amazing.
Agree. No disrespect to the player, but original seems way harder. Enemies would do massive damage and would jump you in a endless loop. Esp zombies and there was no counters.

For those who don't know, here is a little fun fact. TOFU was originally created by the original game developers as a challenge to all those gamers who sent videos(yes that's right folks, people videotaped themselves playing and beating the original RE game with nothing but the knife) , hence why TOFU mode was created. They wanted to see what folks would do then....😆

when you select Tofu he says “久しぶりやで” (hisashiburi yade) ==> It's been a long time. When he get's attacked he says "やめて" (yamete)=> Oh just stop it "やめろや yamero ya”＝＞ I told you to knock it off! He also says "もうあかんわ" (mou akanwa) => this is so hopeless, no this can't be. Another of his lines is "あぁ〜しんど〜" (aa shindo) => I don't feel that well, I feel a bit jaded. @@chiragvatnani3028 that would be more disturbing than the actual gore. BUT if you look closely at the end, you'll see that zombie still tears off a patch of flesh just like in normal death scene
so...they made Tofu talk, running around dodging zombies while metal music plays.... best game ever EDIT: welll...1.2K likes (tbh, thank you for this), most of you finished Leon's story on the original PSOne version where you need to save less that 12 saves (i guess?) , beat the time on 2+ hours in normal difficulty which in return you get an A rating on it man....nostalgia hits us in a wholesome way...don't you think?
@@DieHardjagged i have another weird but awesome idea ever wondered if Konami remake the PS1 classic Silent Hill but uses the RE Engine that...would be terrifying judging from Silent Hill's reputation as one of the best horro games in the 90's too bad Konami focuses on Panchinko machines now.
@@cyclone327 yeah...such a shame it didn't end up well with Konami. we all wished that if Konami wasn't a bad company, they have remakes like Metal Gear Solid or Silent Hill. (maybe Suikoden, if by an chance)
I was honestly a bit disappointed to see how close he got before dying!! I was gunning for that lil Tofu to make it out!! Not gonna lie... I was definitely impressed!! :D
Fun fact: Brains have pretty much the same texture and flavour of Creamy Tofu, so not very tasty unless you fry or stir fry it and wobbly like a pudding whilst somehow solid outside. I guess those Zombies see Tofu as a Giant Walking brain!
When I first read about Tofu in 1998 in an issue of Tips and Tricks magazine, I assumed that Tofu was a person’s nickname who worked as a cook or something. No, it was actual Tofu. Amazing. The most epic bean curd. I love the heavy metal and Japanese voice acting.
Now I know how to cook my tofu... blue, red and green herbs along with some flashbangs and grenades.. oh yeah, I must remember to chop them up with military-grade knives..
This was a comment from 7 years ago on the original tofu survivor vid for og re2 but I’ma say it here as well The tofu survivor mode was actually just a mode for testing the hitboxes (hence the tofu) on your character, but because it was probably entertaining to the devs, they’ve decided to implement it as an easter egg for players
@Greedo you don't do it in the main campaign. You complete the A and B scenarios for the 2 main characters to unlock the 4th survivor scenario, which is super short, then you do THAT in under 10 mins to unlock tofu.
@@ANTHONYACUNA1 Well, actually their other mode coming out where you can play as Cheif Irons, Mayor's Daughter, Kendo, and possibly Marvin/Ben are more like Extreme Battle. I suppose it is similar as you get Tofus with different inventories, but you still explore the same short 4th Survivor/Tofu map, so it's more like what it is: Tofu+ Mode
