It might be a common opinion, but I still consider the challenge run valid if the game forces you to violate the rules of the challenge. It's not fair to call it a failure if the game forces you to fail. What's important to me is that in all sections that you had the choice, you chose not to =)

You should try this challenge on remake separate ways.

*You know what game Capcom should make?* An Albert Wesker game. Chronicling from early on including the tyrant slashing him up to resident evil 5. Even having a “what if” scenario at the end if he actually won. Mechanics wise a mix of RE4 and Metal Gear Rising as the game progresses and he becomes more Neo like. THAT would be great.

Hey, Waifu. I'm pretty sure you can get the charm you're looking for without glitches. There's a set charm prizes by save state. Basically you can get you're tokens >save> redeem and if you're not happy with the prize, reload save and try a different token combination. There's a list of prizes combinations out there.

I... didn't know you could help break the wrecking ball wall. I suddenly like that section a lot more now. Also, the minecart, Krauser knife fight, and rocket at the end definitely don't count. Those sections REQUIRE you to do specific things, so it's not really a loss doing something the game forces you to. The minecart section would only be a loss if you were allowed to use your regular weapons like in the OG RE4.

The Merchant charm should be 10-15% at least. 5% is just not worth the space over better charms, though of course, you can equip it only when dealing with the king. I still think you did. Mine cart and Krauser are scripted events where conventional combat methods do not apply. It’s up to perspective, but you did it in my opinion. And what a giga chad run it was.

Because you are not suppose to run straight through an army of enemies and leave her right in their midst to be grabbed by absolutely all of them, that's terrible bodyguard practice and you should feel bad for sucking at your job :) A bodyguard's job is to be *between* his charge and the enemies.

Can you do a Resident Evil Village speedrun knife only and no special knives like karambit knife only the default knife that you get at the beginning and do it on hardcore if you can

Given that each cannon section can be beaten with only firing the cannon once, and that the cannon has a reload animation, I'm calling it invalid to use on the other enemies.

If Krauser1 or final rocket would count, the challenge would have been pointless from the start. However, the minecart section certainly should count. Just because it sucks that in the end it is impossible does not make the effort to try to find a way with minmaxing damage taken / bullets shot less interesting, especially if it is possible on lower difficulties at least. Feel free to disagree on the minecart. Point is, Krauser and rocket were obvious lose conditions, minecart was not. Great video overall

Krauser and Saddler don't count IMO. The game literally forces you to use the knife and rocket to progress. The only grey area is reloading during the minecart. Personally I don't count that against you (it's the nature of the section as a "rail shooter"), especially as you went out of your way to minimize the reloading. I also understand what you mean about being selective in challenge runs and the irritation with things that aren't "real" challenges. And of course, different players have different experiences; I'm a completionist rather than a speedrunner, for instance, so a recent Remake run I attempted where I got to do NG+ fully stocked attache case (though no more than 3 stacks of any kind of ammo) with a bunch of (non-infinite) weapons, but not allowed to pick up anything was nightmarish for me, but probably a relative walk in the park for a speedrunner (in fact, it was one of the few times I found myself mostly adopting the speedrunner habit of "run past everything.") Out of curiosity, where can I get that speedrunner HUD thing you have in the upper left corner? I've been wanting to try that out for myself for awhile.
