Wow. The cast for the RE2 Remake is flawless. Seriously. I didn't think of it then, but I was sold on the voice acting and immersed in their characters. Jolene as Ada, Nick as Leon, Christopher as Marvin, Eliza as Sherry, Terrance as William, Karen as Annette, David as Ben, Sid as Irons, Ken as Kendo, and Keith as Hunk! Really need more of them in similar roles.
@@Jaysin412 No, Ella is only the face model meaning all she did was get her face scanned. Genevieve is the one who did all the motion capture work not just the voice. The Japanese voice actor meanwhile is Akari Kito.
The thing i appreciate most of this new generation of remaking the classics is the opportunities for these young talented people to be part of such a legendary series and make a name for themselves!
@kouriier6112 dunno why people are attacking the actress herself, it ain't her fault. The issue lies with the director at Capcom and the company itself, they should've directed her to be a bit more seductive and upbeat. Ada sounded dead and flat in Re4R because thats what Lily was told to do.
I don’t think Ada’s VA isn’t a good actress, but for a mysterious and alluring voiced character, I personally think she wasn’t a good fit. I definitely like that they wanted to give an Asian actress a shot (because it should be a given), but I think they miscasted her role. Luis’ actor is bomb for his first role.

First gig as a VA landing the best Luis Serra, and the energy he gave to those Don Quixote jokes is on a whole different level. And then there's whiny boy Kyle Krauser.
Side note ; the VA of Annette also did the voices of Mileena from Mortal Kombat X, Poison from Street Fighter V and Shyvana, Zyra, Fiora, Camille and Cassiopeia from League of Legends. Very talented woman!
This isn’t the first time a voice actor who played a cartoon character played a resident evil character as Ashley in the original was played by Carolyn Lawrence, the voice of Sandy Cheeks and Cindy Vortex. But I’m actually surprised the merchant in the remake is Jay out of all people ngl
@@dee_dee4640Dee Bradley Baker also played the original Merchant from RE4. He's voice all the clones from the Clone Wars and has had a plenty roles in the Ben 10 series.
Capcom didnt want to use unionized actors. Thats why they moved on from Jolene Anderson. *Tin Foil Theory* Capcom wants to bridge the RE franchise to mainstream because the current VA ( Lily Gao) played Ada wong in the recent movie.
I remember hearing rumblings of ‘racist controversy’ etc regarding her. Hearing it for myself now, I understand why people criticized her lack of acting

Her performance is just off and doesn't fit the character itself. She sounds Asian tho, but I believe there could have been better Asian girls that would have given Ada justice.

@@amiramri3032 Damn, forgot that happened. Still, Capcom could've directed his replacement VA to sound more "posh". Wesker has had an interesting accent for many years, so it's sad that the new VA didn't go that route.
Same thought exactly. I read that even her acting in RE: Welcome to Raccoon City as Ada was pretty bad. I hope she takes the constructive criticism and works on her acting skills so she can shine in future projects.
so glad that they didnt go with the "lets just make the character look exactly like the actor" that plagues many modern games. Sure they seem to have done that with some characters, but not to the same extent as many others.
I do like their approach of using face models that are very unique looking. They get to keep the realistic look of the characters while using people you will more than likely never see so it doesn't pull you out of it.
Would've been hilarious if they had the VA of Vergil from Devil May Cry play Krauser in RE4. Honestly, that line about power really reminded me of him.
@@jigokuNeko The voice actor for Kratos wasn't white and nobody complained about that. The black actors voice was perfect and so was the non Asian actress for Ada in RE2 remake. More anti white garbage.

Ok but point is anyway even if he was actually white I've got zero issue with whatever voice actor from whatever race doing the voice of Kratos or any other character as long as they do it properly like with Kratos but unlike Ada in re4 remake. Awful job on Ada mostly. Sometimes she sounded ok but a lot of the time didn't sound much like the Ada we all love.

Hey, nice video of Resident Evil 4! While I love the remake, I also have a soft spot for the original RE4. In fact, I just started a series playing the original RE4 on my cell phone, and it's been a thrilling experience. It's amazing how the game still holds up after all these years.
Could you please change the title? They are not only voice actors, all these people also really acted in the cutscenes - it´s a full performance capture - voice, facial expressions, and movement. So it´s a lot more than just voice. They really played as the characters and many of them were really amazing :) Thanks for this video! I just wanted for you to give the actors full credit ;)
Don’t forget Leon on RE4 was also the one in RE2 I look information and this guy worked on RE2 RE anime show of the RE on Netflix not that awful adaptation but the real deal and this game RE4 he is one I can hear his emotions in his voice

Why is Ada different from the lady who voiced her in RE2? That is so freaking dumb. It's Wesker all over again. They had a perfectly good voice and then recast because they're stupid.

Ada character is asian American All her VA before this was always white female woman with no asian lineage whatsoever And yet Ada is always the best part of the game. Now for the first time Ada Wong is voiced by VA with asian lineage, and it turns out to be the worst Ada Oh the irony
Not that lily's was awful but I'm sure they're we're hundreds if not thousands of Asian actresses that would have given it their all. Just seems like a missed opportunity

I thought Nicole Tompkins was voicing Ashley because imdb and some other sites credited her as Ashley when game was still being developed. I actually love her voice. Anyway, I legit loved cast of RE4, except Ada, she sounds super monotone and bored. I get she was trying to be kinda more stoic but it's really not good VA, because she sounds very disinterested. Look at Wesker for example (this one or RE5 version), they are both having that cold, stoic calculated voice, but they don't sound like it's the first time they are reading lines from paper.
honestly old ashley voice was horrible, at least the direction of it not the actress, it was so so pitched it hurted my nervous system every time she talked
dear lord ada sounds terrible... lily gao is asian sure but her line delivery is just shocking... sounds like a 50 year old accountant cashing in her weekly reports
I’m sorry, but Ashley’s face model looks nothing like her. In Infinite Darkness, she looked like her original design, so I really dislike they made her look like a Sherry clone. And her orange jacket irks me too, because it’s the same color as the shirt. They dropped the ball on her design.
I apologize but I cant stand Ada Wong's voice in the remake, don't get me wrong she is beautiful but Ada has a seductive voice this Ada just sounds arrogant and bitchy just like in resident evil 2 remake, I guess I prefer femme fa-tale Ada the most, I replayed the original before playing the remake, I will say this the rest of the cast was great and I love the game P.S. I would personally like to thank the devs for removing the BS quick time events they sucked in the original.😆😆😁👍
