The fact that this is even possible is insane. I remember when they ported the original Resident Evil 4 to iPhone and it was a horrible looking, unplayable mess with half of the content cut in order to make it run on the iPhone. And now we’re at a point where we’re able to play a (somewhat) uncompromising port of a brand new AAA title on iPhone. We’ve come such a long way and it is crazy to think about lol.

It's because they are small strands of hair rendered individually, This means that the reason the hair looks so pixelated is because of the resolution. Take Final Fantasy XV for example (especially on Xbox One/S) where the characters' hair is so pixelated precisely because of the game's resolution. These are very small hairs that if they have a very low internal resolution, they will be shown the way they are, which is why on PS5/XBX|S we don't see much of this problem because of the 4K resolution. And of course, there are several solutions to this type of problem that have already been used in several games, such as TLOU2 which uses Anti-aliasing in its characters' hair, mitigating this kind of problem.

RE Engine has always have an emphasis on detailed hair strands, and those teeny, tiny details are a bitch to visualize without strong anti-aliasing in low resolution.

@@wendellcosta4921actually a more simplified version of hair rendering is used, also they fall back on TAA to hide the artifacts the hair rendering produces. It’s honestly pretty sad, considering the Witcher 3 came out nine years prior, and has better hair with no artifacts no matter the resolution.

I completed resident evil 4 remake on a PC on ultra settings, and also tried the demo version on my 15 pro max with maximum graphics. It looked much better than here in the video, and at the same time I did not have strong lags and freezes, only in the village with a large number of enemies in battle, the FPS felt like it dropped to 6-10, but on average it was about 30. So after half a year the optimization has become much better.

It's insane the iphone version of RE4 Remake is the exact same as the console version with some graphical cutbacks even though it's very close. All of this of course releasing within a year of the game's initial launch. The original RE4 didn't get it's iphone version until 4 years after the game released for the Gamecube. Handhelds are getting really powerful, especially against rendering large things. Extra credit if you get the reference.

I’ve noticed the iPhone 15 pro version is less detailed than the console version! Probably because it’s compressed because the iPhone 15 pro version takes up roughly 32 GB where the console version is close to 80 GB! But this is my favorite iPhone gaming app right now

its not just only that, its cuz of the mobile phone GPU are not that good at running these games built for dedicated modern graphics card for PC. The frame issues seeing as its not a steady frame rate, and its just very stuttering frame rate going betwen what looks like 20 - 40 fps. Its better to lock it at 30 FPS and have smoother experience TBH.

Something is going on the the graphics for re4 for IOS because RE village looks just about as good as on console but RE4 looks pixelated like it's not fully optimized yet

On IOS no it doesn't re4 remake looks kinda terrible right now on my 12.9 inch I pad pro. But village looks amazing with more options to adjust the resolution the anti alias the texture detail the frame rate re 4 is bare bones and very pixelated @@schwubmexx

Very impressive it's even possible. But you better get the 512 GB model or bigger. The game needs 70GB of free space once installed. But needs double that for the install process (so ~140GB free to install it). Also I want to see how this compares to what you can squeeze out of the steam deck on this game.

man, I remember when the OG Xbox and the Game Boy Advance were the most powerful console/handheld comparison. if you're okay with some blurriness and a chunkier frame rate then you basically just get the same shit on mobile as you can on console now

Theres no "apple is expensive" arguement anymore (all flagship phones are equally as expensive), no "no charger in the box" arguement (every major seller does it now), and no "apple has a bad screen" arguement because that iphone screen is a samsung screen and its still better than samsung screens 💀 iphones are honestly just objectively better now and with their super mega duper chips one day (and that day doesnt seem very far) we'll be playing ps5 games on our flashy lil metal slabs 💀\ the point here is that other companies couldnt care less about the things you can do on your phone because they dont make the software. apple does, and them allowing and optimising and making their phones powerful enough to play RECENT triple A titles is MAD crazy (in the best way possible).
