I love watching lets plays like this. You get to see different techniques and learn a bit about the game. For example, Andy liked to pick up all the secrets he can find. Whereas the RU-vid comments like to sarcastically remark on the fact that Andy doesn't play the game the same way as someone who has played it many times, watched and read everything they could find on the game and isn't also trying to be entertaining. Y'know, like that.

Leon's backflip evade during the big bad fight was amazing. I'm surprised the characters don't talk more about needing to get rid of the Plaga, that's a better reason for why they don't just hunker down somewhere out of sight and wait for the Marines to show up or something. I don't think the best doctors in the world would properly respond to a new mind-controlling parasite in time to save Ashley, let alone Leon, who would probably reach the point of no return sitting in an exam room waiting for someone to prescribe him aspirin.

Leon enters a hut. A guy ambushes him and tries to choke him. Leon proceeds to turn around and boot a random barrel apart. Random destruction finished, Leon blows the bloke's head off and he becomes a tentacle scythe thing... Leon exits the hut... and Ashley runs straight in. Absolute comedy.

I fell into a bit of a wiki-hole because of this LP. Apparently, the village maintained a feudal system, and had an amish-like, catholic lifestyle, eschewing most outside contact since the 15th century. Salazar fell under Saddler's influence around the turn of the millennium, and it took several years to dig up the Plagas, have them reform in the diggers from spores, and experimentation to get the Plagas to where they are now. Given this timeline, the situation in 2004 must be quite recent.

Inspired by this Let's Play and the Dead Space Remake one, I watched the RE3 Let's Play and am now watching the RE2 Let's Play. It was very refreshing to see Andy reload his weapons ahead of time at the beginning of this video. The common theme running through all of these videos is Andy being caught out with insufficient ammunition, despite the dire nature of not having fully loaded guns all the time in all of those games. It's like Andy's own technique for unnecessarily ratcheting up the difficulty and my stress level.

I think 90% of the job is video editing, with research, script writing, rehearsal and filming taking up another 7% and getting to actually play the games only that last 3%. Ellen once said she rarely gets the chance to finish any game, with the number they have to test, and play to get particular footage.
