This is the intro to the new 2012 Resident Evil move, Resident Evil Retribution. Which includes the soundtrack, 'Flying Through The Air' composed by Tomandandy.
MrBoBoTom According to the commentary, it took nearly a year to edit the battle together. The decommissioned ship they used in 'Afterlife' had been moved or scrapped so they acted on a 50ft/sqr platform and CGI'd the ship around it. Milla Jovovich was also thrown repeatedly into the water on her birthday to get the underwater part right.
I still remember going to see this with my coworkers. We ended up seeing the midnight showing, and everyone in the theater was cheering when all the names of the actors appeared, and the characters they were playing. Great times. 2012 sees so long ago. Best intro of all time.👍🤪😁
I dont care what people say about these movies even though they dont follow the games despite having characters from the games I still enjoy these movies and they're the only video game based movies that I actually like besides the first silent hill movie
They make the main characters from the game look weak and less epic, less dialogue, less screen time, less everything, messed up the storyline, make it all about alice and her telekinetic superpowers came of nowhere, changed the t-virus proposite (create Tyrants), the RE movies are entertaining to someone who doesn't know the game storyline. I still like this intro though.
@@osvaldobasso4836 Man,the games aren't from the same storyline of the movies, they're two separate timelines,i know that, seeing badass characters like Jill or Leon being forgotten's a piece of shit,i know it,my first "encounter" with the RE series was with the first movie, and,i loved it,because of the movie i discovered the games, and,i loved it as well. And,yeah,Alice having super powers like Captain Marvel really pisses me off sometimes, but, besides that, you need to think that, the protagonist of the films is Alice, that's why they didn't give those "nostalgical characters" a big role in the story y'know?
Dude I cosplayed as them, and it is hot. BUT just like with the arabs and their sheets, your sweat cant go out, therefore you really cool yourself after 20 minutes.
We only got one more film left in 2015, and then the series ends. I don't care what people say, I enjoyed all the movies and watch the whole series from start to finish at least 2 times a year.
"Flying Through The Air" in Retribution and "Tokyo" in Afterlife remain my two favourite introductions in movies. Ever. It made me go and buy the soundtracks!
I have to admit that when I first saw this introduction I was quite blown away (literally). Love the sequence, and the music is perfect. I also love how they reprise an alternate slower variation of this theme at the end of the film when Jill and Alice battle it out on the snow.
Haha far agreed bro lol this track gives a stir of feelings in me but at the same time it makes me feel ready to do something. Something ultra lol on the actual though!
Yes, it is. It's like the perfect all out action movie, the pacing, the visuals/cinematography, the scale and scope, I love it! Oh, and this awesome music!
PageofLegend yeah. this's been the only so far encountered movies serie which brought action into a horror also preserving the future technology climates, presenting places as umbrella facilities and research centres. I really like all those characters' fight moves and survival abilities.
The most awesome thing about this scene is Alice did not take cover-- the how damn platoon was coming at her...this chic didn't duck she didn't run she didn't move at all lol!! - well not until she single handedly shot the plane down ..Alice is one of the best characters of all time
I had never seen the Resident Evil movies so this was my first introduction to them and woah what an intro! 🙀 This is so good it's poetic.

Guys, stop saying the movie is bad... It may fail a lot in terms of plot and screenplay, but after all you have to admit it's a hell of a cool film. And the intro is fucking awesome!
The Aristocrat the final chapter didn't even make sense, retribution makes you think the last chapter is gonna be insane when retribution ends and there all standing at the White House against an army of infected, but nope just fuck your audience over
All the movies are great I just don't compare them to the game because that just disappoints me. I look at it as Resident Evil set in an alternate dimension.
+Richter Matthias Still, you gotta give 'em credit for doing Nemesis and Wesker a quarter of a half right....and of course proceeding to turn that opportunity to shit in Retribution right after. Let's hope the last film next year, or better yet TV SERIES, finally does this mess of a movie trilogy some justice. lol
+Richter Matthias I love the movies and the games (RE5 and 6 being my favourites). Also can't wait for the remasters and Umbrella Corps. People obviously like the films as they won't keep on making more.
***** Screw it. Thankfully the next film is to be the last. But the tv series is bound to be much better! Most tv reboots in the scifi gente are already.
Saw the movie in 3D and the intro was the super epic also at the end when they build the wall around the white house! very good movie even though i didn't watch series to series
Just saw THE FINAL CHAPTER and the first RE film is still the best, but this is hands down one of the most unique opening sequences of any action film. Tomandandy nailed the soundtrack
Negatives: -Way too man cheap jump scares for a film that has excellent monster designs. (You don't need to rely on insanely loud sound effects when you're monsters look great) -Poor sound design -Some cool characters from the last film are missing completely and given no solid explanation as to why -Poor editing and camera work Positives: -If you saw the original in 2002 in theaters like I did when I was 14, this movie is worth the price of admission despite it's flaws (3D unnecessary. Save a few bucks) -Ties in well to the VERY first film in this live-action RE series -The soundtrack is solid from start to finish. -Has some great emotional beats towards the end of the film particularly
+Matthias Ybarra In my opinion, i think it is the weakest movie in the series. The movie didn't really feel like the final movie. The editing make me have a headache, especially because of the wide screen. Ths characters are just there and they die as the movie goes on and on.Retribution's ending have a great potential for a sequel but the last chapter was just ......ok. In the positive side, i think it has some small twists here and there, plus the zombie attack in the top of a building.
