In the end, I chose Mia for a variety of reasons in my playthrough. 1. I did not come through all this Hell for nothing. 2. I wanted answers and you can't answer questions when you're dead 3. She's the dude's wife, what did you expect?
Chose Zoey because fuck Mia. Not only did she lie to you but she worked for Umbrella all along. That is enough to screw her over but I felt bad in the end. Plus she attacked you and I wanted revenge.

Are we going to ignore the fact that Ethan was clearly infected? Remember when he got stabbed in the hand and all over his body, arm chopped off and sewn back on, and was perfectly fine? That's the regeneration part of the virus/fungus. He was seeing/hearing Eveline which is what happens during stage 2(ithink) of infection. Here's my theory. The "Redfield" at the end of the game is a clone of Chris, and they are taking Ethan and Mia to a revived Umbrella's laboratory to use their blood and turn it into a bioweapon.
ventor11225 nope, Eveline directly controls the virus, and since she died Him and Mia turned back to normal. The remaining Bakers probably died, along with all the molded.

And i think Ethan really was the "deceased" Umbrella scientist mentioned in RE5, which would explain his ability to make med kits/ammo/pstchostimulants etc, weapon proficiency, and his attitude about the whole RE7 situation. He faked his own death and tried to get away from umbrella and bow work. Thats why hes mad that Mia lied to him about taking a BOW job. He also knew he was infected thats why he took both syringes from Zoe. He's clearly calm about it all, the only time he seemed scared was when he was going through the crawlspace and bugs jumped on him. Ethan didnt see that the copter was umbrella and being told Redfield is saving you gives him a false sense of security. Him and Mia will be used as test subjects, or be forced to work for umbrella again possibly. Theres going to be an RE8 and alot of secrets are going to be unveiled
Well I think after the death of Eveline, those viruses won't be able to infect on Ethan or Mia anymore, Eveline is the source of that whole mess , just my point !
The reason why is because the developers started to use motion capture, so they had to make his muscles more normal sized. He's still Chris "Fuck Boulders" Redfield and he still has that strength, but just normal sized muscles.

For example hand cut of = staples, bug bites = bumps on hand and arms, Fat Fucks vomit = burns, and blocking melee attacks = slashes across your hands. I find it cool how if you get slashed on the hand and than poor medicine on the hand the blood gets washed off but if you look closely you can see where the skin was cut.
Red field : punched big monsters . Ethan : took 3 steroids in one night . Leon : Successfully saved people from a zombie apocalypse even when it was his first day in the police .

There's no point in choosing Zoe because she's going to die anyways. You can't stop that from happening, plus your wife is more important than a friend that just supports you.
the bit with the real jack baker hit me in the feels. you spend the whole game hating him only to see he didn't want to hurt you or anyone. He could also see what he was doing but he couldn't stop. For a minute or two you see a family man who loves his family deeply and just wants them to be free
RES8's story should be that Ethan realises that yhe phone he threw away is still good so he goes back to the house to gets it but he had to to gi threw everything again and instead of chosing zoe or mia its an iphone or Samsung
If you choose Mia, you safe both (Mia and Zoe) since there will be an DLC where you see Zoe getting safed by Redfield but if you choose Zoe, both die. Hmmm...
The Bakers were great villains. Primarily because they're not villains, just regular people caught in the middle of something they couldn't control. The talk with Jack is one of my favourite scenes in the entire RE Series.
On the bright side, it was an iPhone. Now he has an excuse to get a phone that isn't a piece of shit while I go get some popcorn and watch the Apple vs. Android chaos unfold.

Does anyone remember Spencer's Notebook found on the ship near the end of RE5? It had a list of Umbrella employees whom Wesker was ordered to kill, one of the names being Ethan W. marked as deceased. I wonder if maybe this is Ethan Winters and his death may have been faked somehow. It might explain why is married to Mia who worked for Tentsu which was made from the remains of the H.C.F. which was Wesker's terrorist group in RE Code Veronica

Oropher420 I understand why he should've chosen Zoe the whole time. Mia was the one who brought the little girl to that place and infected the family, Mia is the one who dragged you out there to risk your life for something that she caused. Zoe on the other hand is a victim of Mia's actions and once you give her the antidote you just let her off to do whatever, you don't need her around but you know you saved a soul or whatever.
MrsDad Did you just conveniently forget the entire story? Mia didn't do anything besides try to transport a package from point A to B. She even tried to warn your character to stay away.
i can honestly say that the short cutscene at 3:20, showing Jack's true kind hearted nature before infection, was probably one of the best scenes in the whole game. It shows the major difference before and after. Infected Jack swears left and right but the real Jack only has kind words to say. Absolutely great scene.
Why in the world would anyone even consider choosing Zoe? I mean, I know that she helped Ethan escape and all, but Mia is his wife for crying out loud. She’s why this game even takes place because she’s the whole reason he even went there, and he has gone through the nine circles of hell to save her. He even got his damn hand sawed off to save her. So choosing Zoe just defeats the purpose of all his sacrifices. Put aside the fact that saving Mia is the happy ending. I know we don’t find out about Eveline until after making that choice, but I can’t imagine anyone choosing Zoe and not regretting it tremendously after beating the game. To me, choosing Zoe is simply a piss poor option. When I played it, not only did I choose Mia, I didn’t even look Zoe’s way. But to each their own I guess 🤷♂️

It's funny, that's exactly how I saw this 'dilemma': Who gets to be saved - the woman who got me INTO this mess, or the woman who got me OUT of this mess? Still, it's not a genuine dilemma as Zoe is destined to lose either way.

there is a picture at the start of the game before mia stabs you where you can pick up a picture of the old lady... on the back it says E-001.... so yeah i figured that she was the original Experiment. its kinda cool tho how the game puts ideas out there like that and its really up to the individual to acknowledge or dismiss
Savanna Tasler i noticed that too, and when i got to the end of the game with the syrum and it said E-001 when you inspect it, it blew my mind how the true antagonist was in front of my eyes the whole time.
Those complaining about Chris's appearance, looks more like the original Chris than the cartoon meat cloud they cooked up in 5, genuinely looks like a little older Chris from Resident Evil 1, very cool!

I'm so glad that the developers chose the Mia ending as the main ending because that's what sets the game apart from all other survival horror games . All other survival horror games are quite plain and simple really,you fight for your survival while undergoing a very thrilling and horror experience and if there is a secondary main character there's a slim chance they may survive and even if they do the games don't make it seem too rewarding and refreshing of a experience and it seems like those typical horror/thriller classics and these type of plot have kinda worn themselves out over the last few years. I say this is the main ending because that's what the DLCs based on and the DLCs start off where the main story left .Why would you choose Zoe when the intention throughout the whole game was to check on your lost wife who's been missing for three years? .Mia and Zoe dying at the end after all that makes you feel like "WTF is the point of all this struggle if Ethan's intent was to rescue and see what was Mia upto for the last three years in the first place?". And lets say even if someone happened to cure Zoe the ending should have been all of them dying(including Ethan at the very end) because curing Zoe and then watching both Mia and Zoe die and to be the lone survivor just makes you feel like any other survival horror game and it leaves a very unrewarding and bad taste imo.

Seeing the new game and the 2nd ending, Ethan probably gets a "better ending" here, since he doesn't gets Rose, and never goes to the village, at the cost of being traumatized and needing to live with this pain. But afterall, Ethan lives plenty more.
Ah as usual with RE questions, questions. Why in the world would Chris work with Umbrella? And why would Ethan just get into an Umbrella helicopter when their involvement with BOW-terrorism is public knowledge? He surely must have heard of Umbrella? And before someone tells me "Redfield" may not be Chris, the game's credits say Chris Redfield.
Or that Vendetta was happening at the time and ended with Chris getting a new look for a disguise while the rest of his team were undercover and hijacked an Umbrella helicopter then heard the commotion to rescue Ethan. The end.

The ending were you choose Mia just made me really happy. Both of them live, and they can start a new life again. That was the ending I hoped for, and it's the one I got.
