Well, technically, Mia and whoever else worked on E-001 (Eveline) ruined their lives. Had E-001 never been made as a weapon, none of those events would have happened, so therefore it's technically Mia and Alan's fault.

COD squad She has no empathy though since she was living in complete isolation since the beginning of her life. All what she understands of family comes down to basic genetics at best. So I'd say she would've used her powers anyways. Eveline couldn't have been a functioning human anymore I think. Not to forget that her fungus infects on skin contact and turns a human being into a mutated monster at some point even without Evie being alive. And after the infection has taken over 50% of your bodies cells the serum would logically just kill you. Jack survived it though, but I guess that's just for DLC reasons.

So I guess the initial infection by Eveline was very strong because she focused a lot of her power on Jack and Marguerite. To get the heads of the family under her control asap. Because as a family unit with semi functioning parents they might have still gotten out of this themselves.

The DLC daughters was before the original game😄
