Makes you wonder how rich the Bakers are. They have the old house, the main house, the guest house, a trailer, a barn with livestock and a full sized greenhouse? Like damn that's quite a lot of property
Well considering the Baker house has been around since like the early 1800's, my guess is that they were so well off that they could bury their loved ones without ever having to leave the property, or shell out money for funeral arrangements.
When Ethan whacks Mia in the neck with an axe, the detail in how his body moved made it so sad to watch even though he doesn't have a face. I appreciate that
Thank you all for the kind words!! Making this was extremely fun, I've never geeked out this much in my life over different angles of cutscenes. Part 2 will be up this week!
I am waiting for part two. I wanna know where's mia go after ethan's answered zoe's phone for the first time, and lucas when he throw away a bomb, and zoe after ethan and mia leave her. Anyway, sorry for my bad english.
SinglePlayerNacho *cough* boat house *cough* idk though i know youre talking about when she staples your hand back on but if anything is a lot like vr mode on ps4 it could just be a quick cutscene pre recorded unless you dug into thw files to see what all was a cutscene. definitely excited about part 2, would also like to see a daughters map exploration when the dlc is released on pc
You should look the model of ethan at the end of the game when u go back to the house and start the thing with mia again.. Then he has a head but you cant really see his face because you are far away
Gu6tera 69 there are videos on youtube about ethan's face. Maybe you should try to search 'ethan's face reveal' keyword. Sory for my bad english. I hope you understand.
The head is actually there on the model, but while you're playing as Ethan the game uses texture culling to stop his head from rendering to the player. This is to stop his eyes and teeth clipping through the camera. Since the head is still actually on the model, but not being rendered by the engine, the shadow still shows it.
7:26: Holy damn, you can see the silhouette of his head turning back and forth! The detail is AMAZING, I can't believe how awesome it looks from another angle, even if you cannot see the head. Loved seeing this! It would be so cool watching someone do a full playthrough of this game for the first time, and you freely roam around as an invisible entity, witnessing from another angle.
Literally just found your channel and saw this in your experiment playlist and saw this, then realized it was a fresh upload lol. 15th, great videos though man.
Honestly, you run the best channel for Resident Evil 7 you show so much content for it and more, even before it released, you fr deserve more subscribers tbh
The thing that interested me the most was that the Sun was just a ball of light over the house. You don't really see that often it's usually just something way far back in the skybox.
This video also confirms something for me: Ethan's model is layered to appear on top of everything else. You can see it quite easily in this video. However, in the normal game, if you go up to any of the leaves from the beginning it looks like Ethan has the world's tiniest hands because of said layering. Though, it seems that in certain scenes (like the chainsaw) the layering doesn't happen anymore. Very interesting.
It's really crazy how natural Ethan's animations look from an outside perspective (minus the head of course) props to the devs, he seriously has a whole lot of realistic character in game
Hope you do more of these, especially with how the Bakers get around so fast (especially Jack's wall breaking, him disappearing then ripping the roof off the car, Marguerite's magic appearing, Lucas' Party time, and during the 'memory lane' sequence in the Guest House near the end considering you see Ethan WITH A HEAD)
Wow, Its so cool seeing these from a Non-First person camera.. I could spend hours just taking screenshots with different angles. really cool, can't wait to see more.
It's so cool to see the Headless Horseman interact with this environment from the third person! How he reaches out for her after axing her that question--as they say, always try to see things from others' perspectives. I like this perspective.
the third person animations in cutscenes look so detailed now imagine if someone can mod a head into ethan 3d model and it would look like it was meant to be played in third person
You missed so much good stuff..like where Andre walks too in the derelict vhs. Where mis goes right after she lays down on the couch..The chainsaw Mia uses. Was it laying down or spawned..when jack appears for the family welcoming ..where Jack comes from when he kills clancy..etc come on homie
Ethan has a head model, but only for specific cutscenes not from his perspective. If the modding scene takes off, maybe theoretically someone could paste the head on and fake an RE4-style camera, but it probably wouldn't be very good.
The reason why ethan has no head is because the creators don't want the head to obstruct the first person view, this technique also applies to bioshock and alien isolation, except that the protagonist for alien isolation also have her torso and pelvis missing.
1:00 Huh. The first-person camera works very well already, but I wouldn't mind an extra over-the-shoulder/third-person camera option either. With a fully rendered Ethan head of course.
It looks to me like they designed the game such that if somebody modded in a fixed-perspective camera, it could very well work. All the animation work seems really convincing (outside of the teleporting Mia).
I saw all the exploring videos and they're fascinating and all. However, is it possible to do an exploration of RE7 where you cover all the death scenes. (Mia sawing up Ethan, spider-Margaritte splitting Ethan, Eveline devouring him etc). I think that would be awesome to see.
This is quite impressive. I mean it's obvious that they had an actual actor impersonating Ethan, but seeing him actualy interacting with Mia like a real person IS still impressive to see. There are games that are kinda "cheating" the character model into the first person view, just look at the first Mirrors Edge.
Yeah I'd love to see a part 2, maybe even get close to the house so you can load everything in and then fly outside and show off the whole house in detail
I know ethan's face was never gonna be shown but they could at least added the head anyway. seems weird now knowing we were playing as a headless dude.
7:24 I like how although Ethan's head is missing so the camera can be there, you can still see the shadow his head should cast whenever there's a lightsource behind him. Ghost head!
