Hoping to do tutorials soon. But I get so many people asking for all kinds of things not sure if I'll tackle this stuff first or not. I hope to start a tutorial series on a new channel soon and I'll let you know.
Pretty accurate, though the gun shouldn't swing up when you shoot, it should be a harsh tug backwards (barrel end slightly up) and an immediate correction by the wielder. Hope that helps I'd you didn't know that already. Good job!
I originally used physics to try and make these animations as an experiment. However, I have gone back and redone all-new animations completely by hand. I will have a new video up with these soon. They're much better and natural. Handguns do kick up ever so slightly and rotate around the center of mass which is a bit behind the trigger. But I did too much in this video. The new animations are snappier and the correction you're talking about is quicker too. *sigh* I have to work so much but yeah, hope to have a new video up soon. Thanks for the feedback! I'll consider what you said when I review them again.
@@dizzykwalla1198 no problem dude, the work you have so far is so impressive it can pass off for alpha footage. I wish I could do what you can. I'll definitely be on the lookout for more videos of yours.
I made the animations myself. I was really trying to copy RE7. However, I have since redone all of the animations so they're much better. I'm working on a new project and hopefully I'll have a new video up soon.
heyy, idk if you're still active but could you pleasee make a tutorial on that head bob effect? i saw some of ur comments where u said u'd make a tutorial soon but well it's been over 2 years.. i really wanna know how the Headbob works so could you pleaseee? 🙏
I only just now got a tiny bit of free time. Since I won't be doing this project I WILL do some tutorial videos because everyone has been asking me about the camera. It's very organic and matches foot steps and everything. Spent years perfecting it. I will reply back again once I do get the tutorial done. And Thanks!
How do you zoom in? I want to make an aiming system for an FPS but without aiming down the sights. I just want there to be a crosshair and zooming in… thanks!
If you get a reference to the camera, I just lerp the FieldOfView (fov) property on it when you hold or don't hold the right mouse button (aim button). I know that doesn't help much. I was thinking of starting a new channel to do tutorials. But we'll see.
Alot of people ask me about the head bob. I have a mountain of e-mails about it. Just the head bob. Maybe I should make a tutorial. It's actually something I developed over some years. You may notice the footsteps also play perfectly in sync with the camera. Unique motion between walking, sprinting, and crouching. Subtlety is very important . if make a tutorial I'll reply here. I was already thinking about doing one. Maybe give me a month or so...
80 is the default FOV in RE7. So yeah I use 80. My aim FOV is 65. I'm not 100% that is the correct value in RE7 but it is pretty dang close if not exact.
@@dizzykwalla1198 okay thank you for replying! I’m building a similar project but I couldn’t get the aiming right, I’ll try out 65, once again thank you for the quick reply, the project looks good keep up the good work!!!😊
Hey just wondering if u could tell me how u did the head bob because its amazing!! Was there a tutorial u used or something. Been looking for ages to find a good head bob effect
Wow, I'm glad someone noticed. It's a technique I've refined over the past 10 years or so. It's not a normal headbob. It's very organic in it's motion uses "figure 8" type of shapes. And it's different from walking, running, and crouching. You might notice also the footsteps sync up with the motion as well. The headbob motion which is designed around footsteps is actually notifying the footstep sounds. Being subtle is also good, don't wanna overdo it. I'm tired of most games that have shit headbobs. Maybe I will make a tutorial. It's very technical. I'll reply when I can get around to release info on it.
@@dizzykwalla1198 Would love to know how u did it!! I 100% agree about most games having shit headbobs. I really liked res 7's it felt organic and just flowed. Others are just janky.
I'm evolving what I've made into a new project. I'll have a new video up in a few weeks. Programing an RE7 style door is easy enough but setting up the left hand animation with IK when walking into doors and walls seems like a fun (or not fun) challenge.
