I literally just discovered this undeniable mastapiece of an experience...for it’s not a game at least through my lenses. The first time I walked within this supply room I was greeted with an unusual sensation of loneliness. Rather the feeling of being completely on my own facing a world that’s possibly in turmoil for I saw the monstrosities as I made my way throughout the mansion. The beautiful warmth of the lantern provided a sense of hope and gentleness for ones soul. It’s a literal blessing in disguise when the exterior is filled to the brim with horrors that cannot be explained. I can’t even describe the sensations that it provided me but I’m sure it provided with anyone who’s wandered into this beautiful experience. Just something I can’t replicate into words for it’s a momentary expression of reflection for any troubled soul.
I love this theme. It's peaceful yet eerie. While you're in the save room, you feel calm because there're no enemies but the "howling" in the song reminds you that there are creatures lurking about nearby and that you can only be safe for so long..
sometimes it was a place of "ok where the hell do i go next?". it captured the fear and confusion a player would experience. wanting desperately to get through the mansion in a cautious haste
Of course :) But it's such a sadness when you come back later and the staircase and hallways surrounding it are littered with zombies again... My little safe haven retreat, and now I can barely get there :(
My all-time favourite as well! But you know what? I've seen a ton of playthroughs were there was actually no music playing in that room. I felt betrayed.... by my own memory.
I used to have dreams (and nightmares) about that entire area of the map (the dark hallways full of paintings, the opulent stairs, all leading up to that one safe haven room.
@@solarenemy3733 i think it is, i just think people think "remakes" should be closer to "remasters", which i personally dissagree on. ff7 remake and re2 remake were great imo, but i can see how some can be angry
I occasionally come back to songs like this from games in my younger years when I feel sad. It reminds me of the past and the people who have gone since. It is sad but beautiful at the same time, it reminds you of who is in your life now and to be grateful for that.
A song that manages to capture that feeling of trying to keep it together will reevaluating the greatest horror you have ever faced all while trying to gather the strength to press on through it all.
Even though a hunter was right outside the door, I knew I was completely safe from harm when I hear this music play. Sometimes I would also imagine myself taking a nap in that save room, like right next to that type writer and then after I was well rested I'd get up and continue on with my horror adventure.
This song reminds me good old times, reminds me the calm after the horror when you reach a saving room, and the calm before the incoming horror when you just dont want to leave the room.
I don't want to sound like I have nothing to relate to, but I'm only 16 and I feel the same way. I remember playing this when I was around 12 for the first time. Those were definitly better times for me.
It is a song with a variety of emotions hidden , Tragedy, hope , warmth , great theme song for this part of the game. Not just the only the same theme song from the original game but they're make it better same as the game play and story.
I always found it a bit odd, that they changed so much about the first half of the game, but the laborotory remained same, as in the original (besides the new textures)
@@mattressstore-wc1bn Yes it did ruined Resident Evil franchise, Removal of zombies, the real plot just killed-off screen without experiencing the downfall of Umbrella and downgraded elements - it's only Action-horror without the subgenre Survival horror.
@@mattressstore-wc1bn Yes I want a bunch of copies like Resident Evil 1 but overral the gameplay changed even with Resident Evil 2 back in 1998 so it wasn't the same game for most of the times, it's more better than changing a zombie survival horror video game franchise to a fairy tale, werewolves, spanish people game.
@@mattressstore-wc1bn "It just changed the formula" You should tell to the people who is hating the same concept that was made into Resident Evil 5-6 which occured because of the mistakes of the fourth installment.
К этой песне подходит одно описание тьмы «Тьма тёмная и пугающая ,но в тоже время успокаивающая и утешающая» «Эта музыка тёмная и пугающая ,но в тоже время успокаивающая и утешающая»
Loved this game. It wasn’t always like that the first one I played was RE2 remake so when I got this one it felt a bit clunky. Overtime though I slowly came to love this one and it is probably my favorite in the series. It had the best atmosphere hands down in my opinion.
i though i was the only one who felt that this save theme was calming yet haunting or eerie at the sametime, but when i checked the comments, looks like many others felt the same vibe from it. it feels like in the midst of the zombie apocalypse, here's a small room for you which can keep you safe, but only for the timebeing. amazing theme.
i like the new resident evil games like the 4,5 and 6,but they are just great games not epic games like the old resident evil games, this is a masterpiece!!!
Just playing a Resident Evil title for the 1st time ever (despite having been a gamer for over 20 years), so I decided to start with the remake of RE1 (tried the original RE1 a long time ago and got really frustrated). Have to say, this simple little piece of music is the most "calming while also very unsettling" aural experience by far! It's a change of pace to the rest of the game music so far, and I'm glad in a way when I hear it because I know I'm in a Safe Place. BUT...the wailing reminds me I don't want to be in this mansion at all, and I have to go outside despite hearing the groans and wails of the zombies outside. I don't get anxiety much at all...this song makes me calm and anxiously stressed all at once!!
I love the save room themes in the RE saga, are relaxing af, i guess is because my mind associates the songs with a moment of calm, like the peace after a storm.
I don't know how to describe the feeling I feel for this great melody. I like listening to her because for a moment she forgot all my problems and just like in the game I feel safe in this place that I call home.
I get the same feelings from both this track and the Dark Souls 1 title theme. They're some of the most somber yet tranquil pieces in all of music in vidya, imo.
+MarioBiggestFan they're making a sequel for this October 13. Yeah TEW was pretty generic. Reminded me of The Last of us and Resident evil 4 combined. It was pretty decent of a game. I hope the sequel is better.
This soundtrack make me feel like I was living in a world like final fantasy but full of zombies, struggling between fantasy and death. This is the best song to represent death
Man Im so glad my bro forced me to rent this from blockbuster in the 90's. Its amazing how this song just completely takes you back to that time when things were simple.
My favorite room of all time is called Mans. E. Stairs and just sitting there.... with this music.. calming down but knowing you'll have to go back. I literally just put on this song and listen to it for no reason. Also I remember when saves were a blessing, like when you're halfway through the game and you start to regret those saves you never ended up needing but used anyway
This game, and especially this theme reminds me of the time 15-20 years ago when I was a kid, it's a rainy, dark and cloudy day, with thunderstorms, there is no electricity, I'm stuck inside my house, it's dark inside, there is nothing to do but feel slight chills, and as the night closes in the only source of light is a candle.
It's sooo peaceful... what happened to good old RE times? I miss the system, atmosphere and melodies from the old games! The early games were much better than the crab of today...
I remember the first time I was playing the remake. I entered the first save room you come across (the one with the kerosene). The second I heard this music I thought "Whenever I have to plan where to go next or just need to catch my breathe Im going to come back here." Then i saw it was the save room. This song 100% conveys a safe feeling.
Beautiful. One of the most reassuring themes in any videogame, it perfectly fits the save room's safety. Is "Save Heaven" a mistranslation of "Safe Haven"
I love this music. It is beautiful. You get to feel safe for a minute or two. But there are monsters outside you have to face and fight when you leave the safe room. This game is excellent.
these songs always bring back memories and make me miss the game. like i'll never get to play it again even though i know i could go to the nearest gamestop or go on the internet and buy it easily...
This reminds me of a Walk in closet of the house that my great grandmother lived in before she passed away. It was right beside the stairs in front of the front door. It didn't have a switch-on light so we put a lantern in it for whenever we had to go into the closet. It was a battery lantern, not an oil one. We even had a trunk in the closet as well. Just like in this.
This is definitely the best save room theme, mostly for reasons already said by others. Your safe, but this is only a brief reprieve, and you know it. You can practically FEEL whatever zombies and monsters are out there, crawling through the darkness, almost as if they were staring through the walls, through the door itself, looking at you with hungry eyes.
Resident evil safe rooms and bonfires from dark souls 1 are so impactful while also being so subtle. Not comparing the two it’s just so many games fail to pull this off.
Never played through this game fully but this one song makes me want to. It reminds me a lot of Amnesia The Dark Decent. (A game I still need to finish.) It feels dark. Peaceful. Like finally sleeping when you're scared. It sounds like a dark, medieval song, and I love it. I'm definitely gonna play this game now.
I remember sneaking into the living room in the middle of the night as a little kid and playing this game on my GameCube. I was really young at the time (6 or 7) so I had no idea what to do or where to go, and the terror of hearing a zombie out of view of the camera, trying to leave through the front door of the mansion, or encountering Yawn for the first time are memories I'll never forget. I'd often just stay standing in the save rooms listening to the music and ambience, too scared to leave.
