I’m the kind of guy who pauses my game looks at every single step and decision you make just to do good, I’m great at the story but mercenaries is my weakness
So I stopped attempting to get the S Rank on Mercenaries mode trophy for about 2 months and now I'm back. Now I remember why I stopped playing this mode lol so I've resorted to playing this video on .50 speed and following everything being done in 10-15 second increments.
That’s what I’ve done for the first 3 stages. I’m at mad village and every now and again I come back here with the motivation to do it, see I have so much left to do and how annoying each of them are, and then leave again lmao

Thank you! Just got my 1000G for this game and it’s all because of your guide. I tired the knife tactic with the flash bangs but I’m awful with the knife and the whole crouching to get some kills on the soldats is annoying. So I went with this and within no time I’m mowing down these last 4 levels and getting SS rank on all of them. It’s all about using your magnum when you have too and getting a nice build of perks. I had 3 adrenaline perks stacked “where every hit from a gun gives me back a little bit of health” I was just firing my pistol had it where I had 60 in one clip so I didn’t need to reload after I got magic magazine. Thank you again now I can just breathe.
Thank you so much for these videos! I managed to get SSS on all of them earlier today with the help of you. I personally hate mercenaries, so I definitely wouldn't have been able to do it without your help. I really appreciate it
They seriously need to patch mercenaries with a retry option. So it loads area 1 with the load out you picked in the shop. Its annoying enough to fail. But then you have to rebuy everything...over...and...over.
Well I finally got my LZ. Took like 2hours a day for 5 days. Thank God the points are forgiving for the last 4 levels. Somehow I got SSS on those and half the time, only did half areas of full combos. Now I'm doing knife only challenge and going to get the rest of areas to SSS after. I basically am at my platinum trophy after knife run.
@@Aeonsmagicks congrats. I’m stuck on the last 3 levels and the few times I’ve beat The Castle II I’ve come up like 3000 points shy of SS. I think I need to get better at aiming. I keep running out of ammo in Area 4. Knife run wasn’t too bad on Casual. Once I get these last 2 Merc trophies I’m platinum as well.
@@midnightfm87 only tips i can give is to not be afraid to stray away from these videos/guides you find. Also, corpse combuster is probably my favorite ability. Saves ammo, kills like all enemies around when it triggers. I would end up trying to group up enemies and pray it triggers. Execution too is good. Also, slowing down enemies ability on later levels helped a lot. And I found it best to shoot enemies in the knee once or twice to have them fall and then headshots were much easier(im on ps4). I saw makaguides's videos also and kinda used them for routing decisions only. Then went based on what I felt worked best. I didnt seem to ever have as much luck/precision as these videos so I dont sell my ammo. I'm not trying to steal views but makaguides gives voice-over guides which can help. The hardest for me was probably factory 1 as I was always so close. Last tip, make sure you get at least a B on first 4 levels. They give you 5k starting cash on each level. If you have trouble reaching your desired score on first 3 levels, make sure you play and get your first 4 Bs. These are general tips. I realize your past first 4. Castle 2 was a pain. I would constantly retry the first area. You want a perfect combo. And then try to get a perfect combo on 2nd area aswell or as close as you can. Seriously check out other guides if you haven't..there are many routes/strategies.
I am just halfway through this video but these runs are absolutely insane! The way he keeps the streake of the combo going on for the each whole area and, apparently, almost effortlessly is simply amazing! 😮

Your method for the second more difficult versions of each local is much more fun and thrilling then the overly complicated 'nades and knives tactic I've seen.
Thanks for the amazing walkthroughs!!! Also I have seen a few and tried a few and V61 is the easiest, fastest and most effective way to clear it with SSS in my opinion. It's just so helpful to see the routes you take and how I can improve my own by using the same techniques! Again much appreciated!
The backtracking on Castle 4 def makes it my least favorite map, just feels real bad to do especially the first couple times before you know what triggers the respawns.
It’s ridiculous but the grenade launcher is highly useful in mad village 2. If you get it, you need not worry about being low on gun ammo since during the final stages you can spam (since grenade ammo does not get sold out at the duke so I’ve spent all 50k lei on 50 grenade ammo before the 4th stage) the grenades or strategically use it against soldats instead of pipe bombs and then using the Lemi to finish them off. So I highly recommend on saving lei but max out rate and keep damage and reload speed one bar before max for the lemi. (Bc more damage means less ammo wastage) Aim to get as much long distance damage abilities and I’d highly recommend getting execution or super block bc the biggest threat in all stages is easily the arrow dudes. That was how I tackled all 4 levels of mad village 2 with SSS after some test runs. Get the grenade launcher for the final 3 stages and save magnum ammo for the big axe dudes. Getting the grenade launcher made the final 3 stages a huge pushover and ngl the last 2 stages was pretty stupid and fun cuz of the grenade spam. Also knowing enemy spawn times is pretty impt, good luck folks
Man it’s good to see that other people have had similar strats. Though I’ve never used the V61, it certainly seems like the better option. I’ve replayed through the game more times than any other game but didn’t really go in depth with mercenaries until recently. Personally I use most of the stuff found here but with the shotgun instead.
I was hitting that issue in the first castle level. But I don't sell off any handgun ammo in the beginning anymore. I'll do it just like this video and then do more burst shots instead of holding the shoot button down, and of course trying to get the pick ups when I see them if I can.
I’m not gonna lie, I had A on most of the maps and one S and I was so scared I was gonna have to play for hours. But after watching this playthrough I’ve got SSS on all the maps first try and I was so shocked. Amazing video man thanks for the help!!!
@Ecnnr! I went through RE2 and RE3 remakes, RE7 with all DLC's, so I'm pretty familiar with RE games. When I say "level design" I mean "the Factory level design". Other locations in RE Village are made quite in the spirit of RE, but it is the Factory that is quite confusing and causes some discomfort)
I fucking hate the second version of each level, it's such bullshit plus you get the most awful handgun in the entire fucking game. And it really pisses me off how easy you make it look. Like how you throw pipe bombs at the soldats it instakills them but when I do it, it doesn't even take down half they're health plus everytime I try to keep my combo alive it disappears for no reason. Also when I shot the vârcolac with the wolfsbane, it didn't do shit to it meanwhile you instantly kill it like eating a nice breakfast on a Sunday morning
I'm disappointed my final memory of this game will be using the worst weapon in the game against hyper aggressive enemies that flop around past the point of believability.
I was on factory and I was about to reach the end but the game decided to not spawn the enemies in. After going to a completely different room and coming back they spawned in. Im taking a break
*As soon as you break the orb preform the quick turn action- you’ll be facing the direction you keep attempting to reach but don’t quite get there by turning around normally* on PlayStation it’s L3 backwards And circle button @ same time. Don’t wait for the orb to actually break- as soon as you’ve hit the button to break it immediately do the the *”Quick Turn”*
the score required for ss on each stage is in a book near the exit door of the duke's room, if you are facing the door it should be on a sort of table next to the right wall.

I had NO IDEA there was a bird on the gardeners house in the first Mad Village level. I never had any reason to look up. Well, at least now I know for future runs.
I know its an old video, but its been super helpful, im still grinding for the s ranks for the platinum. One question though, how come you can start the level with 35k lei? I start out with just 30...
The first 4 levels except The Factory is pretty easy to get SSS. But the version II of these levels is like Village of Shadow difficulty and all you got is the shittiest handgun in the game.
