This is incredible! I cant imagine floundering in such a dangerous and suffocating environment to try to save someone. You have all of the love my heart can give you!
unless u r doing a search in a warehouse u r never going to have 2 guys doing a search together on a ladder for us u have the driver and tillerman they put up the big ladders and go to the roof the inside hook who puts up a 20 or 16 and goes in as the pack who does the search the second in ladder will do a search as well but they will take about 2 min longer to get to the location doing a search by following the wall when it's heat and smoke u r not going to find anything and by the time u r done doing it like the the civilian is most likely dead and the fire is out that's why u want to ask the people that live there if possible is anyone inside and if so or even if not u want to run in go above the fire and check every room by yelling out and using ur camera then going to the next room ur secondary search is more detailed that u would search how they r not on the primary search when i was new 15 years ago i did it like this and the fire was out and my senior man kicked me and said what the hell r u doing u do a search like this and the person will be dead by the time u find them
Thank you for the very helpful video. I am a Japanese firefighter, but I have a question. When searching, why don't we secure with ropes between members? I'm sorry if the translation is strange.
Walls make sure the back of your hand is touching the wall because if you lose that wall, you can and will become lost.... Good job on the vid brothers....
No use of personal lines in this video and this can eliminate the foot situation and there is no communication between the 2 rescuers, I was always taught to communicate?
Not a great tactic. In a actual fire you NEVER let go of your buddy. When you enter the building you grab onto his pant leg and don't let go till your both out. But that's just what I've learned to each his own
Yamahattr225 You need to have communication, visual, or touch when staying together. How is one suppose to search a huge house if you guys can't spread out at times?
Hey@@Isaac-jf9ju . There are a variety of search techniques and they can differ based off of the crew seize, structure type, fire conditions, and skill/confidence. Generally though the idea of holding on to your partners leg is mostly what is taught in the fire academy but in actual practice it is cumbersome. There is a lot of great information on the web and at fire conferences on how to search. The best thing to do is gain some knowledge and then put your gear on and see what works for you.
