A fire continues to burn out of control in north east Victoria, threatening lives in the Murray Valley near the border with NSW.
Communities in the area have been cut off from power and phone contact as the fire tears through the region.
There are fears that worsening weather could cause the fire to merge with the East Gippsland blaze to the south and one burning across the border in Kosciuszko National Park.
Reporter Matthew Doran is at an evacuation relief centre in the town of Corryong.
