Residents of Mahur condemn yesterday's road accident expressing concern over narrow road of Mahur town
Residents of Mahur have condemned yesterday's road accident and demand exemplary punishment to the driver of the dumper who hit a man to death at Mahur town under Mahur police station.
They also expressed concern over the narrow road conditions of Mahur town and said that the police team should remain vigil to thwart such accidents in future since the roads are narrowed. They also demanded a compensation for the bereaved family who lost their sole bread earner.
Keijening Panme, 47, an employee of PWD Mahur division was hit by a speeding dumper on Tuesday evening at Mahur town. He was immediately brought to hospital where the doctor declared brought dead. Autopsy of the body was done on Wednesday at Haflong civil hospital.
Panme is survived by his six children, three daughters and three sons.
