The Environment Protection Authority is investigating after residents raised their concerns. Micaela Hambrett and Joanna Woodburn report.

Would be interesting to see a study on the mine workers.

There is supposed to be dust monitors around these mines to check out how much dust in the air it’s a simple, bloody machine to put up put a dozen of them around mine. They’re connected by satellite and you can get the dust reading every four hours.

Dont worry about air quality worry about ground water pollution that shits toxic.. mine should of been shut down straight away and made to build a new tailing dame and clean up their spill.

Self regulation in the mining industry is on par with self regulation in the construction industry. Both wide open to data manipulation . For proof, we only need to look at the number of deaths and serious injury in these industries since regulation ceased being overseen by government departments, and was left to the big companies.

It's one of the neoliberal dogmas, together with privatisation of all public services and assets, casualisation of labor eg outsourcing. Five decades of neoliberalism, a Nobel prize winning social-economic theory turned ideology that was embraced by left and right of politics just keeps giving and giving

The only thing wine is good for is it's a red back antivenom once drunk over a prolonged period of time.😂😂😂

If any health effects crop up we should mandate an mRNA solution from the Vic or QLD plant for the effected and have NewCrest foot the bill!

These dam walls fail across the globe all the time. No mines should be allowed unless they build chemical plants that can break down the chemicals used by the mines. What does the epa say..other than instruct? The mine should be closed. What about the first nation people? They must be beside themseoves with their "connection" to the land.
