A controversial decision to open a Save-A-Lot location in Chicago's Englewood neighborhood has residents fuming, and they voiced their concerns at a town hall meeting Wednesday. Vi Nguyen has the details.
I can see their point but it's just a grocery store. I mean what respect do you expect from a grocery store ? I didn't know that a grocery store should give you respect
@@ralphpal Black people seems to have no problem shopping a Save A Lot in the South. There are plenty of RU-vid videos providing tips in shopping there.
This is bizarre. Is the store still open? Most of the time they complain about the stores leaving. The city is probably paying them to be there and covering all the shoplifting costs. Save-a-Lot is one of the few stores left that will take a chance in these areas but eventually even they can't tolerate the food walking out the door. The ones I've been in don't seem to have much of a loss prevention dept. if any. Usually the Save-a-Lot and the Dollar Store are the last holdouts in these areas but it's rare to hear of one actually opening at this point.
Jewel-Osco..hello?! Where are they? Jewel-Osco is the local standard grocery store in Chicago. It's an outrageous that a local grocer doesn't build stores in their own town!
