In this project, I made Resin art sphere. Alcohol ink in resin. I poured alcohol ink into the epoxy resin and mixed it a little. In this DIY, the main thing was that the epoxy resin was thick. Alcohol ink in resin can still be combated - for that you need to know your resin and the basic principles of using the ink in it. To begin with, we drip alcohol ink, and then either smear it with a stick in resin, or leave it in this form, or pour a little transparent epoxy resin on top. The result is a very cool epoxy fill with alcohol ink. In macro photography, he looks just amazing and mesmerizing. Like space or a nebula in space.

Hi! I was thinking for a long time to make a sphere for my sister. I wanted it in amber with a fly trapped inside. But I was reminded that she is deathly afraid of flying bugs. I happened onto this video. I was inspired by your creation. I saw your other sphere videos. They are lovely. I will try it this weekend. Thanks for posting!

I think when I get off work in the morning I am going to try this I have that same exact sphere mode and some colors this is beautiful I can't wait to try I was wondering about sanding down edges how do you get the shine back but that was answered in this video. Thank you for this video I greatly appreciate everything I learned in here

Thanks for your comment. 2 Options - or sand with sandpaper, 100, 200,300, 500, 1000, 2000, 3000, 5000, and polishing paste. Or sanding with 100 sandpaper, and then pouring a thin layer of epoxy.

Can you do multiple colors dropped in and stirred separately or will they just end up mixed together?
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy Год назад
It depends on many factors, resin, ink, instillation time. You must experiment and find your way. Sometimes it's beautiful when the colors are separated, sometimes it's beautiful when the colors are mixed.

With my resin, 10-20 minutes is enough. But you need to experiment with each resin, as there are different manufacturers.

What resin do you use? Also I see you use wet sand paper do you kust dust off or rinse off? Reason I ask is in video it looks dry just before you pour your last coat of resin. I would gratefully appreciate it. Thank you in advance
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy Год назад
Resins are usually different. Look in your country and try to work with them. manufacturers are different, and the properties of the resin are also different. There are some for faster work but they are not designed for large fills. There are resins that need to be worked after some time, 3-6 hours after mixing, to get such a result. I have a resin that takes a long time to dry. I sanded with sandpaper with a fraction of 100 and 200. And then again filled it with a thin layer of epoxy

How do you get the alcohol ink to do it's thing so perfect?
@ARTtherapyEpoxy

The whole secret is that I work when the resin is already thick, then the ink leaves interesting traces and stains.

Stunning 😍 I tried this, this morning and my sphere hardened up within 2 hrs and left a load of bubbles at the bottom?! Are you using deep pour resin?
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy 2 года назад
I have it universal, but it thickens for me longer than 4-6 hours. for this you need to dilute it with special thinners if the manufacturer has them, or work with it faster. In any case, by experimentation you will find a way.

Do your colours fade over time? I use pinata alcohol inkts but in resin they fade quickly.
@ARTtherapyEpoxy

They don't fade, they just get loose with white and also in resin. Don't forget about mixing colors. Therefore, you need to experiment with colors and also with your resin.

Yes, it all depends on the resin. You can use a vacuum sealer, or you can also heat the resin in water.

any specific temperature range? @@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy 8 месяцев назад
50-60 °C. but do not forget, some resins, when heated to such temperatures, begin to harden faster, and some begin to boil. Therefore, test your resin on a small volume first.

OK so at the end you said "fill it with resin" when you poured over the sphere.. fill what exactly?? And what did you do with all the extra waste resin that flowed over the globe? Is out just sitting there at the bottom all cured? I'm so confused..
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy 11 месяцев назад
Yes, as a result, you will have a small platform at the bottom. which can be left on or sanded down if you want a smooth sphere. But in different videos I show different approaches. And you choose what you like. You can just sand everything down with sandpaper.

How is the resin not hardened by now? You did warm it up, which I found out LATER after watching this video, and doing the same things. That it makes the resin cure ALOT faster!!! So, how is the top not solid yet? Are you using DEEP POUR resin? What brand?? PLEASE tell us something, so people won’t be trying to accomplish this, only for your toothpick to find a solid surface after waiting the 4-hours.
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy Год назад
So. Let's do it again. Don't get attached to a brand name. You need to understand how to work with your resin, which is available in your country or region and which you can buy. Your task is to understand at what temperature the resin begins to thicken. Through trial and error, I figured out how my resin works. And you spam messages. This art is based on inspiration and experiments. My resin brands - Epodex. EpoxyWood. Crystal 3D Mass. Art Pro.

How many ounces of resin to fill this ball?
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy Год назад
It’s hard to say, I didn’t measure in ounces, the diameter of the ball is 6 cm. I use + - 120 ml. epoxy resin, but still depends on the firm of the resin manufacturer, and there is still shrinkage of the resin itself.

That is a good trick with the glue gun. 8 have that same mold, and after a few uses, I found that it doesn't stay together. I will try this next time. Your alcohol ink art inside the sphere looks very good as well. I am having trouble getting that effect, and am buying some low viscosity resin to see if that makes a difference. However, every time I have tried to use hot (even just warm) water, my resin flash cured. Do you use a slow set 48 hour epoxy? Thank you.
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy 5 месяцев назад
Yes, I went through this too. When the resin is thick and heated, it boils and becomes hard. To do this, I switched to longer hardening processes. But sometimes I also use thick resin for a thin layer. Create and experiment in small volumes with your resin in order to understand and correctly apply it in your products. ❤

Hello, I pour epoxy on top, this is one way to make a smooth, glossy and transparent surface, instead of sanding by hand. And the stand is square, it is an acrylic sheet so that the epoxy resin does not spread much on the table)) I am glad that you like my work, in different videos I use different techniques to find what you like best and do something similar or something of my own.

How hot is the water?
@ARTtherapyEpoxy
@ARTtherapyEpoxy Год назад
Degrees 50-60 Celsius. It all depends on your resin, there are resins that begin to harden at this temperature, and there are resins that become more fluid and all air bubbles come out. Here you need to check on your resin in a small volume so as not to spoil the product.
@michaelguberman8606
@michaelguberman8606 Год назад
why must the resin be thick before pouring the ink?
@ARTtherapyEpoxy

So that the spots harden in the resin and leave their mark, if the resin is still liquid, then the ink will dissolve in it.

You either heated the water very much, or held it for a long time. Your resin means it hardens very quickly, you need to either look for an approach to your resin, or buy a resin that hardens more slowly
