The other jewelry box I made turned out a little warped too, even though I put the box together first and put the mold in it before pouring the resin. It's definitely a little tricky to get the box shape just right! Glad you can learn from my fails! LOL. Thanks for watching! XOXO

Once lid is made go back and put resin in lid mold but dont fill all the way. Take the cured lid and put back in the mold face up so raised section will be on both sides. UV works too.

LOL, definitely learned some things in this project! The second jewelry box I made had way less oops moments, but honestly, I liked the way this one came out more! Go figure! Thank you so much! So, the gold was actually tint and not alcohol ink. When I bought it, I thought it was ink, so that is why it needed to be mixed more into the resin, because it wasn't absorbing into it. I wiped the gold off as much as I could, and whatever was left over just dried. As far as the box keeping shape, that is the only thing I would say I don't like about the mold because it's hard to get it to be absolutely rectangle, even with those wood pieces. But I'm planning to try again with a different theme and color (maybe ocean?) and see if what I learned will help with the next one! lol. Yeah, when it's your first time using a mold like that and you're new to resin, it's common to make that mistake. It would be nice if those molds came with instructions!

Same as mine so hard to work with just the box took 300g. Of resin! 😭

If you mean how heavy is the box after the resin is cured, it is very light.

I thought about that after the fact! LOL. I may try that in the future! It was a gift and I was pressed for time, so I didn't even attempt it. I do have some jewelry box latches that I had bought for a different project, I bet it would work!

@@trishscreativecrafts There is a really cool tool I found at Amazon. It's called a Pen Vise. Not sure if you heard of them. But it's a tiny little hand drill type thing. Not electric or batteries tho. It's just a hand crank with tint drill bits. It works really well on resin and a bunch of other products (wood, plastic, anything you want a hole in) to drill a hole for our projects. If you do not have one already you should check them out. They are so cool I bought for my friend too. It would make it really easy to add a handle or knob to the lid. Plus they are really cheap like $8 range or so. I just ordered my silicone cups yesterday. I guess I forgot I will need those also 😊 I look forward to seeing more from you. Have a wonderful rest of your weekend

@@debraschillinbags I do have a hand drill that I had bought initially for my wood slice ornaments I made. I've never tried it with resin, though. I'll have to try it!
