Hi! It's Maricris from Maky's Craft.

It seems that a lot of you guys liked my previous video where I made a resin dog tag.
I got a comment to use a vinyl sticker and here's how I made it. It's so much easier and saves a lot of time❣

you can wet the surface slightly with water for easier positioning. after it dries, the sticker will stick well

I know this video is 2yrs old and not sure if you are still making these or have a different technique, but when applying ANY lettering whether stickers or using a cricut, use a grid mad or a piece of graph paper. It helps you find the center AND helps with making sure the letters are straight so you don't have to handle the tag or the letters too much!

@@eclipsechatters hello! For uv resin, you dont have to mix two separate liquid and you can use it as is. You need to cure it with a uv lamp. Then you can do the same steps like putting letters, dome it with resin then cure in uv lamp..

Do you not fill the resin mold all the way or does it just look like you don’t? I have some dog tags I need to make and I love your technique! If you don’t fill it all the way, I imagine it’s so the piece doesn’t end up too thick once domed?

Hi you're right! I don't fill the mold all the way so once I dome it, it won't be too thick, and i think thin dog tags are good for small dogs so it won't be too heavy for them (i think hehehe, just my opinion)

Use a vinyl cutting machine like Cricut. They will be aligned and even, plus go on all at once.

I know they are expensive! But how I got mine was on HSN or QVC. I was able to do 4 or 5 smaller monthly payments, very affordable like that.

Hello I believe they use a cricut or other cutting device and measure the tag to get the measurements! Some sellers might be able to sell you some on Etsy. I know this is late but I never saw any responses

Hello! I use the same resin from the base, you can wait for a couple of minutes so it would be tacky, perfect for doming. For the drying time, I also waited for 24 hours, it really depends if it's not yet fully cured, it will be extended.

Hi yes you can add the name both front and back. And i got my mold in our local shop here in my country.

Heyy so some people want their numbers as well on one side of the dog tag and the name of their pet on the other side. How do I get to put the number? It’s so confusing. Btw the tags are beautiful 😍

Thank you! You can add a small amount of resin and add the numbers. Wait for it to cure, make sure to dome it after so the numbers wont come off. Once cured, do the other side. I suggest to use a fast drying resin so it wont take too much time 🥰

Do you dome what most would consider the "back" then with the lip from the mold? The part facing you when you pour?

@@sticknpeel No no I get that. But do you consider the front of the shape to be the bottom of the mold (sitting on the table), or the part that faces you while it dries? To me it looked like you put the vinyl on the part that faces you while it dries, then of course dome that.

@@Whitsr ohhh. Im using the side facing to me as the front of the tag because there are times that if you will not fill up the mold, it will not be flat. There are parts that are sharp.. tho you can fix that as well.

New subscriber here, dog tags gorgeous but the items you used for mixing the resin in have definitely been used a few times lol. I always clean mine out after every use.....looks a more professional on camera. Not done any resin videos yet anyway, I look forward to seeing your future videos 👍

Hi! I always start in the middle and count the middle letter of the name (if i explained it correctly) hehehe good thing most of the dog names are just short. Butif the name is long, like the baby girl in the video, i actually redo it several times. I stick and remove it if i cant put it in the right place.

Depende po siya sa brand. Mostly si part b is half ni part a.. may mga fast drying din na same ng amount si a and b..

Can you let it cure completely before adding the vinyl?

Yes. You need to make sure it's cured otherwise it might ruin your base (like fingermarks, etc)
