Hello, I find your video very helpful but I'm struggling to apply it to my project. I'm currently editing an Instagram Profile Promo. The idea is to have it as a story 1080x1920 aswell as 1080vs1080. My objects are going all over the place once I scale the comp. Can you help?
This would have been so handy for me I did a project that was 1080 by 1920 for tiktok and i wanted to make it 1920 by 1080 for my showreel and i was moving things manually so this would have saved so much time
When I add the expression to the graphic BG to prevent it from distorting... it immediately distorts my graphic massively without my having done anything to it. If I then parent it to the the comp size null it massively distorts it even more. What am I doing wrong?
Is this techniques better than the newest Responsive Design features on After Effects, including the Pinning directions and such? I noticed you haven't made any video tutorials detailing that. @@thevideolancer My bad for the brain fart. Yup there is only Responsive Design Time feature on After Effects as of now. Not Responsive Design Positions. So yea we're still stucked at pinning Null Objects to Layers. I thought of the new Responsive Design features that come on Premiere Pro since last 2019.

Instead of the composition size (variables 'thisComp.width' and 'thisComp.height') use the scale of some Null layer. For example like this: scaleLayer = thisComp.layer("Scale Layer"); x = scaleLayer.transform.scale[0]; y = scaleLayer.transform.scale[1]; [x,y]
this is an amzing tutorial. but it has limits. it works as long as your content is not dependent on the outer edges of your comp. if you change comp size the acimation itself doesn't change accordingly. any workaround for that?

I think he's not changing the comp size dynamically. The composition's bg color is the same of after effects environment, so it looks like the composition dimensions are changing automatically, but it isnt.

I'm having issues with the second part of the tutorial. I've applied the expression to the Group null and parented layers. When I change my comp size to 1080x1080 the text doesn't resize and stay in the frame. It's cut off.
@@thevideolancer I believe we fixed it. We used the basic expression for the Comp size layer instead of the uniform scaling one. We also stopped parenting the background layer to the Comp size layer. Урок просто бомба. Спасибище за такой полезный контент! Подскажите, пожалуйста, как можно сделать так, чтобы содержимое прекомпозов изменялось вместе с изменением размера основной композиции? Уточню свой вопрос. В уроке показано на примере одной композиции и здесь все действия понятны. Но что делать, если в моей композиции также есть прекомпозы и в каждом из них я делал такие вот привязки? Дело в том, что адаптивность работает только внутри прекомпоза: то есть, эти прекомпозы не изменяются, если я меняю разрешение в основной композиции. Как сделать так, чтобы изменение разрешение в одной композиции влияло на все остальные?
Довольно таки сложный вопрос, чтобы я смог ответить в комментарии. Я думаю для этого надо использовать скрипт, который при необходимости изменит разрешение нужных композиций во всём проекте.
Вопрос действительно сложный. Я пробовал использовать скрипт "rd_CompSetter", но изменение прекомпозов с его помощью не привело к нужным результатам - содержимое прекомпозов посъезжало. Пробовал привязывать Scale слоя "Comp Size" из прекомпоза к Scale слоя "Comp Size" в основной композиции. Всё съезжало. Ещё пробовал такой способ: накинул на пустой слой два Slider Control: "width" и "height". Обоим прописал соответствующие команды: "thisComp.width" и "thisComp.height". Затем припаррентил к ним значения "x" и "y" параметра Scale слоя "Comp Size" из прекомпоза. То есть, заменил этими привязками предложенный вами код: "x=thisComp.width; y=thisComp.height". Но и это не сработало. Может, у вас есть какие-нибудь мысли - хотя бы просто мысли - что ещё могло бы сработать?
@@ИгорьШипилов-м7н может быть при смене разрешения скриптом - съезжает Position слоя Comp Size. Если так, то попробуйте в Position вставить этот экспрешн [thisComp.width/2, thisComp.height/2]

На всякий случай, напишу уточнение - "[thisComp.width/2, thisComp.height/2]" надо вписывать как в Position нуля Comp Size, так и в Position каждого прекомпоза. И внутри каждого же прекомпоза нужно проворачивать такую операцию, как в уроке: создавать Group Null, их привязывать к Comp Size. Thanks for the tutorial but you move too fast. Some us depend you to learn so please do it make it standard slow when teaching us because we ain't fast enough
