THANK YOU! This is the 6th video I've clicked on, and you are the ONLY one who's not going on about their life story. You answered my question in less time than their intros!

If i have an image that is 72dpi, whats the best way to upscale that will reduce artifacts and pixelation?

When using v2 on iPad, I’m only able to use sliders for the resize. I see no toolbar, and it is impossible to get the correct ratio using the slider. I have found no answer for this.

I’m using affinity photo 2 iPad, so far on trial to see if it does what I’m looking for (I use Affinity Designer 2 already though). I’m wanting to print photos of paintings at A1 size. Would it be best to create an A1 size document and then place and stretch the images to fit that size, or open the photo of the painting the size it is and then resize like you describe here? Does this impact the quality of the final image? Can I batch edit size in the iPad version? Is there a limit to how much you can resample and have a decent image at the end? Can I resample 9x larger? If not are there tricks to make it work better? I have a vague memory from doing it in Photoshop years ago that you can duplicate the image layer and blur the layer behind and have the layer in front less than 100% to get both the detail and lack of pixelation.

Affinity still uses DPI and reinforces this error. The correct term is PPI. Also, DPI and PPI is not interchangeable although even professionals uses it wrong. Photoshop has had this correct for years now. Affinity refuses to change it even if countless people has gone through this and shown why it is wrong. When you print something, you have to decide how many of your pixels will be printed pr inch. So, for print, it has to be PPI. For any digital media - screen, web etc - PPI does not matter. DPI is only used by the printer driver to determine how many dots will be used for each pixel that is printed. And we have no control over this. The only thing Affinity does is refer you to a community post. And in that community post, it is explained very well why DPI is wrong and PPI is correct 🤣

yes. dpi is printer ink drops, ppi is pixel on screen.

@ ppi is the measure of how many pixels you will print on paper. Dpi is completely irrelevant for us. And ppi is irrelevant for screen.

So, basically this is a labeling error? Interesting.

Can we make a macro for changing DPI to 300? If I record such macro it distorts image which have different proportions...

same did u find out why, i literally puchased this for this purpose an d cant even do it, file-document set up does not have resampling option and when i change dpi, image get smaller. smh most useless software.

I am curious to know if the resizing method has been improved in version 2.0. Because in version 1.x, resizing by on export versus resizing the document before export gave completely different results. Changing the size on export of the file did not lose detail.

I haven't tried resizing for export but changed the units from pixels to inches without changing any of the pixel values one time (36mp camera). Changed the photo to 73"x49". I'm sure the quality of the image & spot on focus had something to do with it but, I couldn't believe the amount of detail in the photo as I dragged it around the screen in amazement of what I was seeing. Of course, I changed to the size I wanted to print. RITE-ON AP !!! Long live AP !

Have you tried this in v2 yet? I’m trying to work out the best workflow to resize images to A1 size still as good quality

I congratulate you for the new tutorials where the image of the person who is explaining does not appear, since this image distracts and covers part of the program's interface. Congratulations!

Es wäre sehr schön, wenn man einen Untertitel in deutsch hätte.
