Reskinning ducting from inside a potato topper. 

In this video I reskin some ducts from inside of a potato topper. The toppers are mounted on the front and back of a tractor to remove the potato plant tops.
So the first job is to remove the old skins. This is done by arc air gouging the welds away and peeling off the worn out steel.
Taking measurements off the old pieces, new ones are cnc plasma cut out.
After cutting out the parts and cleaning up it’s onto the plate rollers to roll the main plate to size. It’s a bit of an awkward job getting the plate to fit in and line up but once in, they are then tacked into place. The outer wear strips needed a bit of twisting and bending into shape, they are then clamped and tacked into place.
They are then welded around.
