At 11:28 as you hammer the heel part, the shank breaks thru the cork. You can see it at 12:31 and a few seconds beyond, clearly. That's ok left like that? I know you put glue over it . . .

How many times have you smashed your thumb learning to hammer down those layers? Made me nervous, thinking about doing that myself! I like the crepe sole on the Iron Rangers. It's an interesting look on these classic boots. Would you do the same work, but offer a leather fill instead of cork? I've been thinking about what I'm going to do when mine finally need a resole, and I'm kinda wanting to take a page out of the PWN bootmakers, like Nick's and White's, and go full leather from insole through midsole. Would that work with a steel shank? Anyway, great video. Love watching a craftperson ply their trade, and the final result looks great here. I bet that's a happy customer!

Hey, thanks for pointing that out! The mid-sole you are referring to is a layer of genuine leather, and as such, it was left unpainted because it ages over time - creating a natural patina.
