Our beautiful family continues to persevere after losing their nest. Frankly, it probably upsets us more than it does them! Parents have been doing a fabulous job at supplying food - and the eaglets are quickly learning how to eat in new places. The whole family makes regular visits to the nesting tree, and today - mom (?) even spent some time with food IN the fallen nest on the ground.
Such an inspirational story that continues to unfold...

Every time I watch this two babies I feel so sad seeing them trying thier best to survive in the wild despite of no nest to rest on , I wish this coming new season the crew help them build in a nice strong nest for the babies. ❤❤❤ we can learn from them by treating ourselves that life must be go on

@@zakaatrose it’s true , that truly sad 😢 my heart broke seeing those innocent eaglets, I love 💕 them all and wish them grow healthy, strong and fly high above the sky unfortunately it didn’t happen this season. I wish all the best for all our eagles family

I love how this eagle family took a disaster of losing their home and have still made happy memories and continue to thrive. I loved the footage of them splashing in the water and hopping in the grass field. I am hoping that there are some people nearby who can build them a starter nest and that the eagles can do the remainder. Maybe the juvies can kick in a help before they scatter.

Raptor Resource Project is already making plans for just that in the off-season! You can keep up with their updates here: facebook.com/RaptorResourceProject

Such beautiful surroundings they have. The nest really stayed together on the ground.

It be looking like 17 (the bigger one, right?) be trying to figure out how to put her nest back together. Two days now I have seen her pecking at the wooden frame and I’ve been praying she don’t pull that nail she keeps biting at out. I think they wanted to lay down today for a bit. Anyway, I love these two.

I see that too, my hope is had the ground crew help the nest back but I noticed that tree 🌴 is like almost dead tree, so hopefully the crew will find a suitable tree close in the same area or close to this tree. The area best suited for our growing eaglets and mom and dad , close to the water supply with fish to hunt and sometimes a fresh meat 🥩 from the cows farm , to all ground crews thank you so much for taking care our eagle family bless your heart ❤️

The team at Raptor Resource Project did say in a Facebook post that they are planning to look for another suitable tree to potentially hold a new platform for a starter nest. Of course, that would be during the off-season. RRP has been really good about posting detailed updates & plans on Facebook, if you're interested in following along: facebook.com/RaptorResourceProject

dont the eagles just usually build their own new nests? I am not thinking any ground crew is necessary, Eagles are master class carpenters. They will rebuild when these eaglets are on their way on their journey

The Southwest Florida eagles did just that after windstorm took down their nest. They did it all by themselves, just the 2 of them.

I know some of our eagles are using nests they built on human-provided platforms - like here at Decorah, and at the nest of Rose & Ron (Wildlife Rescue of Dade County). Some strongly disagree with this level of human involvement, but others rejoice in it. I don't know that I see any real harm in it, but I admit that I do not know the concerns of those who are against it. I would be curious to know that. I do also agree and understand that plenty of eagles are doing just fine with no human nest-building help at all, so there's that.
