I am playing this for my band show this fall, and it is difficult for me. I got 1st part, but I really need to practice a lot to build up to all those high B flats. Luckily the ending of this song isn't bad. Its the mid-section before the solo that is hard. The range for trumpets in this show is brutal.
It shouldn't take very long, but maybe the tubas weren't used to the rhythm, as in almost every case, we tubas have the bassline. I had the song perfect in around 2 or 3 days of practice, and memorized in maybe 5.
Anybody else having trouble because they can’t find a basic recording of only ONE of the parts of this song. Like, what am I expected to do, learn every instrument in the song!?
