For RSBI some institutions actually have PEEP 0 and PS 0 for 1 minute and get a RSBI value from the parameters. Any input on that? Also on the NIF why use pressure trigger -20 L/min when one can just use exp hold like the demo you guys presented? Wouldn’t this cause more Respiratory muscle strength to do a NIF maneuver? Just curious your inputs, thank you
Pressure support completely off? are you sure...; I would think there would be some increased resistance imposed by the ETT / circuit - Personally I use 5 cmH2O to overcome the imposed resistance from the circuit / ETT, it is generally considered acceptable to go as high as 7 cm H2O
It's only for a short period of time my friend. After you can place them back on previous support. If uncomfortable w 0 PS, you can use ATC, or TRC, depending on what vent your using.
