I am a nurse with copd, she is an excellent teacher. She presents with such calm it calms me as I do the workout with her. Been at it 4 days, already feel a bit better. Hope she does more, she is a good soul. If there are angels they have to be nurses.
Not all nurses. Lol. Most are awesome, but there’s always got to be some awful ones in a group of good people. Thank God for this lady. People aren’t angels, but maybe she’ll get a special place in heaven.
I have used these exercises for two years. First six months twice daily, then did fifteen each every other day since then. I also added body and limb exercise to my regime. I find I have more energy and not tired after the exercises. Thank you very much for you help. I should tell you I have eighty seven years behind me . THANKS AGAIN as someone once said "Live long and prosper" Spock said that
I am hooked on these exercises, good to focus on your breathing, especially when you might feel a bit breathless, just say in your mind "you will come through this"very positive.

Thank you for these breathing exercises. I shall try them. What I am doing now - 1. Sit on the edge of the bed holding a small weight (up) in each hand (5 pounds) 2. Stand, pushing the hand weights up, and inhaling through nose 3. Sit back down, blowing the air out of the mouth quite forcefully, and let weights down to shoulder height (starting position). 4. Repeat for one minute of exercise 1. Sit on the edge of the bed, holding hand weights (15 pounds) straight down next to bed. 2. Stand, pulling the hand weights up toward the armpits, inhaling through nose. 3. Sit back down, blowing the air out of the mouth quite forcefully, and let weights back down next to bed. 4. Repeat for one minute of exercise. These breathing exercises will also stimulate the brain pituitary gland to release growth hormone for youth and muscle mass. (Burst Exercise). Do once per hour.
Have been feeling some shortness of breath. I will be doing these 2 times a day .I just finish doing the video exercise and feeling alittle better.Thank you a bunch for posting this excercise.God Bless you for helping others.
thank you very very much.. I am surviving pleural effusion which caused breath shortness and back & chest pain while taking a deep breath. I train to strengthen and expand my lungs by doing this exercise, and today is the 2nd day I am doing this exercise (I did it in the morning right after waking up and drink a glass of mineral water) and I feel much better. I can take a deeper breath like the air is filling my lungs :') hope I can be consistently doing these exercises. thank you very much.. you help me a lot.
Dr. Keeley Verrett Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to show us the breathing exercises. They were great. Truly appreciated. Lisa Alexander
I thoroughly enjoyed these exercises, and your calming delivery. It's great to see the variations within different cultures of similar practices, such as the yoga breathing techniques also.
I love the sniffles really helps! They all help so much but I love this one as I do it everywhere! It encourages you to take a really deep relaxing breath afterwards. Guess it's why you feel more relaxed after a good sob!!!
@@lollypop2414 The exercises are just the same. I only picked up two exercises from this video: Chicken wings and Stirring the pot. I like Donna because she combines breathing exercises with the strengthening of the muscles. I am sure it is the most effective way. Good luck.
I wish to thank you so much. I am an Israeli O.T . coucing a COPD gruop and find these videos very helpful. Thank you and will be greatful to for more /
Iam facing somany problems of breathing issues at the time of going up stairs ,..i will fallow ing your simple exercises made me better improvement in the respiratory problems,... thankyou...i love you ...when ever you come to India, come to Hyderabad, telangana....i love you so much ...mam..
Wow I just watch this video! I have ro admit she is right. I'll testify i just started with first round and I already feel a big major relief. Stay persistent people
The way you breathe is the natural, normal way. The advice of "in through the nose-out through the mouth" is helpful with exercise. Exhaling through pursed lips, slowly, helps air continue to get to the deepest part of the lungs even though you've already started to exhale-it helps to keep a negative pressure state to aid with pushing the air into the deep parts fo the lungs.
Hi there, thanks for your videos, well done. I am a PT in pulmonary rehab outpatient program, and have a question about the Chest Fly breathing sequence. Could you please explain why you chose to exhale / inhale in the directions you have, my instinct on opening chest / stretching exercise would be inhale as the arms go back/chest opening, and exhale on the protracted/arms come forward direction. thanks.
Thanks for shariqng. In chest fly exercise you inhale as you bring the elbows near and excel while talking them back. But in all the other you did exact the opposite. So which way is right. Normally while expanding the intake is done.
GUYS if you have shortness of breath and weak abs... i had the same problem all week end, what happened was my abdomen sunk downward inside my torso, meaning my diaphram couldnt breathe for me. What I had to do was physically massage the muscles as i tensed them back into position, massaging each head where it should be (as best i could tell) starting with the upper two ( BUT PLEASE start with tensing back and pelvic floor before bringing abs back up) two days ago i was nearly having panic attacks now i have reclaimed my abs and my breath.. hope this helps someone
Question: I am a yoga instructor and I have been teaching many of these. However, I've been teaching 'chicken wings' differently as far as breath goes, just the opposite. Inhaling as you open the elbows and exhaling closing elbows. This feel much more natural and feels like you can breathe more deeply on the inbreath opening the chest than closing. Please explain why you do it the other way. Thanks sooo much!!
Thanxz 4 returning the Best motivation 4 better breathing, Do u have any other ideas for exercises with the 😷 Mask for Eazeier Breathing& How long is this pandemic response supposed 2 last when is the pandemic' s Expiraton;Date???????&??????!..............
Video 1 in the 5 video series reviews the breathing technique. You are to breathe in through the nose, out through the mouth using your diapharagm. The stromach moves out when you inhale, and relaxes back down when you exhale.
Jean C Thank you so much for sharing these exercises. They are simple to follow comments from those who have used them are absolutely encouraging. I developed shortness of breath from COVID-19 and have decided to make these exercises part of my daily routine. Blessyou for sharing your knowledge and experience.
I bumped into this accidentally. Decided to check if it's any good for my asthmatic lungs. I now realize that these exercises can change my exercise induced breathlessness. I've downloaded the video. Starting exercises straight away. Thank you very much for this wonderful video. Respects from India ❤❤
