The main reason why there is an apparent drop in quality for OMM this season is mainly due to the fact that a lot of the prior experienced animators decided to leave Hyper Gauge. Mali, the creator of OMM, therefore had to get some new and up-and-coming animators to work on the later fights of the season. That is why some of the later fights were slower or lacked polish. If you're planning to review season 5, do take the animators or what happens behind-the-scenes into account since that tends to explain things.

OK, Nice video! If I could I would like to give my opinions Oni vs Kenpachi-I thought it was a badass season premier and yeah I know Kenpachi SHOULD have won but it doesn't really matter in my opinion Hulk vs Broly- I agree, Broly pretty much controlled the fight, while Hulk did some of his MvC3 moves. It was probably my least favorite this season Rock Lee vs Sanji-It was good.........nothing else to say, it was good animation and a pretty good fight Paul vs Ken- Meh it was ok, not the best, not the worst. Happy Ken won though Joseph Joestar vs Edward Elric-...Ummmm it was ok. I don't know anything about either character but oh well Batman vs Iron Man-I thought this battle was fast paced and while yeah neither character was represented not the best. I thought it was awesome! and I'm surprised you didn't say "At least Iron Man had more connections than Wesker!" Shadow vs Vegeta-So I'm happy that you enjoyed the fight but the fact that we knew that Vegeta wins from Trunks vs Silver is kind of the point with it being a BONUS episode. It's not part of the main series so it's not really a problem IMO. Also THANK YOU FOR SAYING THAT SHADOW NEEDS TO WIN MORE! HE TOTALLY DOES! Shang Tsu.....I mean Fei Long vs Lui Kang- The most forgettable yes, but not bad, just ok Waddle Dee vs Goomba- THIS WAS HILARIOUS AND AWESOME! I personally really enjoyed this fight! One of the best fights in my opinion Piccolo vs Martian Manhunter-It was pretty good but yeah by what they showed, Piccolo should have won Solid Snake vs Chris Redfield-Eh, I thought this was the most average of the season but its perfectly fine Ibuki vs Valentine-It was pretty good! Nothing much else to say Sasori vs Alice-Good Animation, Good conflict and CREEPY ENDING UGGGGHH Raiden vs Genos-RIP GENOS STOP THE GENOS ABUSE! Seriously though it was only meh Painwheel vs Decapre-Yeah its another SF vs SG match but its kind of a follow-up to Ibuki v Valentine, and the fight was ok MBison vs God Rugal-Overall I thought it was pretty good! I see where you're coming from with the finishing blow but otherwise it was pretty good! Gon Freecs vs Izuku Midoriya-I thought this was AWESOME, sure it was a pretty story driven episode but it was a season finale so I think a little more story is ok once in awhile. Besides the rest of the fighting was BADASS!!!!!! Overall: I thought it was a really good season! Some faults? Yeah. Pretty Awesome nonetheless? HECK YEAH! Also, isn't it common knowledge that the Hulk is literally unbeatable? The more you fight/piss him off/hurt him, he'll just get stronger until he can squash you like a bug.

in the first two seasons of JoJo's bizarre adventures they use an ability called hammon which can cause things such as metal to explode, and Joseph is crafty enough to be able to trick Edward into such a thing, hammon is an energy source that comes from life itself and by mastering it people can use it for incredible purposes

It would have been much better if each had previously won 1 round and having the 3rd round be the tie-breaker. Before the fight even started, I knew Akuma was going to win because he had won twice at this point. And before you say I'm just saying that because I'm salty, I'm a Street Fighter fan and I haven't even seen Bleach.

Great analysis of the season! Batman vs Iron Man was my least fav of the season. It felt easy to predict Batman would win since 1. He lost to Wesker in Season 1 (though this isn't always the case) but more importantly... 2. They make Tony out to be a lazy asshole who had what was coming to him. Funny enough, the Arcade Mode version of the fight had the OPPOSITE problem in which they made Batman a psychotic killer.... Maybe vs shows oughta keep these two away from each other?
comicking428 I hope you're reading this first of all Batman would not be Iron Man because he has no knowledge of him and even if he did it would only take Iron Man a split-second to kill him at least that's how I feel about it in my opinion
kieren McKenna that is the entire reason why they do it to have something with two characters that they have in common. For example Tifa Lockhart vs Yang Xiao Long both a busty brawler and very protective (I disagree with results but still they have two things in common)

I think that Chris Redfield vs Ash Williams would have been a better fight because they are both gun wielding Zombie hunters. (Also P.S. Ash would win because he can use black magic)
The whole point was for Akuma to win all 3 Times, and that Akuma is powerful he was too powerful Kenpachi couldn't defeat him after 3 attempts, I'm sure that was always the intention
9:38 Well...I’m glad you asked!! Joseph threw his Hamon filled clackers at Edward stunning him thus giving him the win. Hamon is a life energy which is channeled through a special type of breathing which matches the Rays of the sun. It’s typically used to counter vampires and pillar men in Jojo. Think ki but more electric. Also, that’s one of the most well known traits about Joseph in a fight: He’s a strategist who outplays his opponent with clever tactics whilst making them think they have the upper hand. Then when it seems like he’s lost, he usually states a “You’re next line” statement which is then followed by him executing his plan.

As a Touhou fan I can say that Sasori vs Alice is a garbage episode, not because Alice lost that's irrelevant, heck OMM had Saitama stalemate Superman and Meruem stomp Cell for crying out loud, but the thing is that it was such a waste of an episode, the battle wasn't memorable and honestly kinda boring and slow, their personalities were fucked up, specially Alice's since she's really selfish and wouldn't care for that guy at all, neither of the characters showed all of their abilities or anything near it, the ending was so unnecessary, like seriously why was that? It was such a big middle finger for the fans of the series. It looks to me that the animator only had the sprites to work with Alice and just did what he could instead of knowing the character from before. Then there's the precious comment section but that's an outside factor of the video. Honestly imo it should've been done by the same animator that did Sakuya vs Dio, where he showed references and almost all of the abilitiesof said characters and was made in an enjoyable and memorable way regardless of the winner.
The entire fights felt wrong both in a result being Alice solos, but also because of what you mentioned, they completely botched Alice's personality and didn't even really allow her to do anything impressive. Nevermind the fact that even her more basic feats completely demolish her opponent's feats. It legitimately felt like there was no understanding of her character on any level at all.
To further explain my point, in the DBX with Espio and Greninja, Espio pretty much gets bodied through the entire animation. There are moments where he just stands there and lets himself get hit like in Dante vs Ragna or Raiden vs Genos. Same goes for Amy vs King Dee dee dee, she gets one good combo on him, then his minions cheat by getting his gear to him and Amy gets bodied for the rest of the animation.

I do think that this season was still all around enjoyable, and I still prefer it to DBX, I did have gripes. I did get pretty tired of DBZ characters almost always winning their fights (think they have 2 losses by now.) And no, I don't think that Vegeta would beat Shadow IF you include Archie. He's so fucking OP it's actually ridiculous, do some searching yourself you'll be surprised. Sonic becomes a multiversal opponent with complete invincibility and a speed of around 16,615,741,816,800 x light speed, or just outright running when time wasn't present (the Time Stopper ability), making him infinitely fast. And since Shadow is comperable to Sonic... Well, there ya go. Sonic characters tend to get gimped. The oversaturation of Street Fighter characters in the season was a little annoying too. I do want to rant about one particular episode of DBX though. Aigis vs Vermillion (that the name?), they just, man they gimped the fuck out of Aigis. They slapped her with one Persona, her original one, when she conically became a Wild Card, allowing her to wield multiple Personas. Many of which are completely immune or even drain (heal you when hit by) physical attacks, which would completely fuck Vermillion, but I guess I could see why they kept it out. They also ignored a few other aspects of her, but she just seemed heavily underpowered so her opponent could win.
This was a good episode but there is a couple promblems but there only minor promblems. Akuma vs kenpachi was the 3 episode of one minute melee and dio Brando vs Sakura (non-anime) has (spoilers) dio lose and he is a anime character while Sakura isn't.
you know the Hero vs villain cenarios just for entertainment I enjoy the idea and when they finally let a villain win I hated that video it don't make sense it also makes it really the worst episode versus history
*+JA JA* But letting the heroes always defeat the villains is bad 'cause then the show becomes predictable and if One Minute Melee prides on anything is on its unpredictability.
Well metal blade 5, there is this vs show called limit break showdown and their was shadow vs bass in season 3 finale, you can watch that one and then when you see the victory, you'll be happy, just don't watch the season 1 battle

I am surprised that you haven't talked about CHARA vs KRATOS! (Undertale vs GoW) CartoonFightClub Bonus Episode 18.Since He said Chara Killed Asgore (Flowey killed Him) And Asriel (FRISK Saved him).
I always felt that Screwattack and Hyun's Dojo just hate the other Sonic characters and never let any of them aside from Sonic himself, Tails, and Metal Sonic win without losing first. Amy; lost in DBX before the death battle, Knuckles; lost in death battle before the one minute melee where he won, Shadow/Silver; pretty much always lose, and Espio lost in one of the latest DBX episodes. I remember Nick from Screwattack in the top ten worst Wiiu games, said that the only Sonic characters that deserve to exist were Sonic and Dr. Eggman. Heck wiz follows up the ending of the Mewtwo vs Shadow fight with "the fall caused him to lose his memory and then the worst Sonic game ever happened".
Please respond to one minute melee season 5 since there were a couple of really bad episodes like Luigi vs tails and the worst episode of one minute melee ever in my opinion Mario vs sonic
