+Freesia York that's what people say when they don't understand Glenn's points. he's only a douche because he wants music to be better and he's sick of music being made by tards who don't understand the concept of 1-2-3-4 or a line six spider isn't a recording amp.
***** wording yourself like a douche is probably gonna get crap done. I'm picking up bass because of him and I want to be the only bass player I know that doesn't come to it like a low guitar.
i can't hear the bass, besides the parts where the guitars go quiet. I only hear the low end from the guitars, and some clonkiness from the bass frets. On my headphones (AKG K240 MK2) i can discern it slightly, but the mix still lacks the balls a rumbling bass gives. Same goes for the drum kick. it's very poppy and clear, but little to no low end. but i guess on Fluff's rig it sounds groaning. On everything i got (speakers/headphones), it sounds thin. Still.. amazing song ! Someone's a riff beast in there >:)
RU-vid autoplay sent me to Dorje - Catalyst right after that one... that's what i'm talking about. Dave is heard all along very clearly.. The mix is globally more "in your face", powerful
Yeah I really like Rest, Repose but I guess I like a little bit more meat in my mixes now that I've been paying attention to sound. I also started second guessing myself if maybe I mix bass too heavy but I'm glad other people like a bit more bass in the mix! Cheers
L Rod i tend to like pretty flat mixes since they are the ones i can play really loud ^^ bass heavy becomes muddy, and thin mixes are ear shattering. If i take one of my favorite albums in terms of sound, Rush - Counterparts, from start to finish it friggin massages my stomach. Muddy bass can't do that. I like to feel the music as well as hearing it. To me a good mix is one that achieves this, and it's not exclusively a metal thing.
I feel so damn small Against the sheer size of our existance Our roots are stilled buried Here beneath the sands of time And time is all we have to bury our hands in the sand Am I the only one Who gets excited when I think about The possiblities of life Connect and communicate That's just the life Please can we just live it Is what I'm so eager to do What I'm so eager to do about time Gravity will pull Us from this city of sleep Peaceful entities Cast into the sea Flying through time and space At a thousand miles an hour Falling into the truth Into the truth Into the truth of our time Do you ever Ever forget what's all around us Cause I know I do Held on a giant ball of rock Surrouded by dangers Gravity will pull Us from this city of sleep Peaceful entities Cast into the sea Our roots are stilled buried Here beneath the sands of time And time is all we have to bury our hands in the sand Flying through time and space At a thousand miles an hour Falling into the truth Into the truth Into the truth of our time Am I alone here Amongst the sleeping city
lllPanda I quite agree, the lyrics are just bad, and in my opinion, so is the voice. I like the band, but the singer threw everything off. I believe that he is no longer with the band, a good move, in my opinion.
Didn't want to say anything about the singer, but I agree with you. I assume, they're still looking for a new singer (from the looks of the latest rehearsal)
It's a shame, I love this guy's singing style, it makes a change too from generic screaming shite The rest of the band is very good, but the singer is bloody marvellous. Does anybody know his name? Does he have any other stuff we can look up?
Did anyone else notice that the lyrics are free verse? the song is great all around, killer melodic guitar parts and a massive crunchy explosion breakdown, rock solid drums with unique grooves, and a bass line... but i don't think i have ever heard a song with no rhyming lyrics that sounded good. very nice guys!
Ignore all the "wanna be band member" musician's comments... This band kills! Love the drummer's attack. Rhythm tone is HUGE! I straight up love the vocal. Put them all together and that spells awesome. Kudos gentlemen!
I really like the sound of this band. I like the parts where you can hear the bass too. I'd love to hear the bass jamming more in these types of bands.
I've listen to this sing quite a few times since this was posted. I love it from front to back. I've just, today, identified my favorite part. in the brodge whwn the guitarist uses fifth chords instead of single notes for the main progression. It's perfect.
This is some of best music ive heard in awhile! Love Jared and Fluff, was stoked when I heard about their band, keep it up guys, its awesome! That guitar tone is savage also, knew it would be :)
Hey, dude, okay? I'm Brazilian, and I came to tell you that you are successful and have fans around here too !!! Keep up the work, much success to you!
What genre is this? I'm really digging this type of stuff more than way heavier stuff I usually hear on Jared's channel. Metalcore? Melodic metal? Alternative rock? 😃 P.S. All instruments sound awesome here, MOST ESPECIALLY that dude's voice 🔥🔥🔥
A band with a fairly similar sound would be Arcane Roots... sort of :D Similar popish flair to the clean vocals, with the "alt" rock/metal feel to the instrumental section
Let me start odd by saying I have no experience in mixing however I do play guitar. I agree that the guitar work and the lyrics seem to be conflicting. To me the guitar work is too overpowering and maybe should be slightly quieter and maybe boost the vocals and drums some. However I still enjoyed the song regardless.
Fluff is about the worst heavily endorse non player that exists. I will never understand, the dude is amatuer hour in the flesh. Parts are truly laughable. Singer was pretty good though.
Onyx Productions have you found tabs? I have searched but I didn't find anything. I begin to write the text from hearing but it's damn hard work. And it's in drop B! I can't tune my guitars on drop B, then I must buy new strings, thats because I play the song higher. But I only work out the beginning. Have you find something?
Unfortunately I did not find anything.....but thanks for the tip about the tuning! I will tune it down there and will try to find out something by ear.
it gives the music kind of a prog style. I don't want to give to much shit to the band but I'm dissapointed because I was really exited to see what the band could do when they put this song online. (sorry for bad english)
I'm really not a fan of Fluff's riffing. Not trying to hate, I see a lot of people on here who love it, but personally it's just so standard and boring, he plays the same rehashed riffs every time I see him play.
I agree. I admire them though and it is early days. it's different when your brand new bands teething pains are seen by so many so quick. I find the lyircs to be repetative in a sense of using Time, Space and sand over and over in different ways but he has a great voice. Jared has a lot of potential as a drummer but seems to repeat his grooves and style way, way too much
