Commodore also has some of the best behaved children I have ever encountered. He is the main organizer of many of our events so he always does a great job of keeping us well fed on delicious food 😀

Always a good time and I actually have seen Dickie eating at Mr. John's Steakhouse too so if you haven't tried the food there yet add it to your list. Merry Christmas 😃

Another great meal in the City. I always love our holiday traditions this time of year and you can't go wrong with Dickie Brennan's. And as you stated, I'd say the Au Gratin Potatoes were probably the best I've had in a good while. Happy Holidays! - The Commodore

So much cake... I saw a news story England is locking down again after you just opened is that report accurate?

@@NOLAGent1 London is on total lock down even on Christmas day. The area we live in the North West has only been out of lock down for 8 weeks since March 24th but we can meet 2 other house holds only on Christmas day and only up to 6 people. We have a new strain of the virus in London which is 70 times more infectus. Is New Orleans open for visitors or is just local people because florida and tennessee look really busy on videos but new Orleans doesn't. I know each state has different rules like each country in England 🇬🇧 has different rules

@@lizallison324 we have had very few travel restrictions in most of the USA with only a few states doing them for short times so far. New Orleans is open to visitors but few are coming these days. Most travelers seem to be heading to Florida and Gatlinburg, TN. So far most of the folks I know only know a handful of people that have had the virus with very few deaths so far after so long a time with stricter and looser quarantine rules so people are certainly traveling to places with less restrictions every chance they get. The water is also full of boats as people are going fishing and just pleasure cruising to escape being under restrictions. It still seems very deserted around the city of New Orleans while out on the water of Louisiana it gets crowded with people getting out. I will be spending Christmas away from my family as they want to keep up strict quarantine but there are no rules forcing that unless you have a really unusually large gathering . New strains of the virus could be concerning although mutations are to be expected and often when it spreads easier it tends to be less dangerous so I hope that is what the situation is. It seems most of the people I know that have caught it have mostly had mild or no symptoms with just a few being more seriously ill and so far the only death in my family has been my 99 year old great uncle dying from it but really dying more from old age I would say. The vaccine maybe will get us out of these lockdowns sooner hopefully but just like the flu vaccine it won't work on mutated strains as well or at all so we will see but hopefully we have an end to all this soon.

for a first time visitor looking for a steak in new orleans, would you recommend this place or charlie's? i'm a little torn because the food looks better here, but charlie's has more local character, unless i am mistaken on either grounds

I would say Crescent City Steakhouse or Mr. John's Steakhouse. Crescent City is more casual while both offer great environments. Mr. John's also offers a wider variety of food options outside of steak as well. I would say go to lunch at Crescent City and dinner at Mr. John's to double down on your steak feast.

If you come to eat in New Orleans, eat at places like this because the food is freshly made and mostly all the restaurants in the French quarters are not freshly made they red beans and gumball comes in bags that they just warm it up and serve it to you like they made it. But this restaurant is the real deal they make everything from scratch. So do you research about eating in New Orleans because 98% of the restaurants in the french quarters are serving you bag food that they warm up. Good luck!👍🏾
