Released 33 years ago, and STILL better than almost all of the "country songs" being released today in 2023. Same with their "Dancy's Dream", "The Bluest Eyes in Texas", and "Why does it have to be wrong or right?".
What happened to those days… the younger generation have no clue what good solid music is… all computerized today, voices on stage are disappointments at most live concerts as recordings were tweaked so much
I have to admit I don't know much about country music these days with the exception of Vince Gill. But then I don't really need too. I've got Restless Heart and Blackhawk to listen too anytime I want.
Born in 1980, My childhood was jam-packed with the greatest music a young country boy could've ever hoped-for. During late middle school, there was Shenandoah, Diamond Rio, Lorrie Morgan, Clay Walker, Ricky Van Shelton, Doug Stone, Clint Black, Garth Brooks, The Kentucky Headhunters, Alabama, Vince Gill, The Judds, Tim and Faith; * before they got hitched, Oh, Sawyer Brown, "The Race is On", Little Texas, "What Might Have Been"- I can't list them (all), but the talent was absolutely STACKED back then.
I am 39yrs old I remember growing up listening to restless heart I love there music it no bands around like that now I love 80s and 90s country music ❤
I agree...my twin brother and I have a thing when this song comes on the radio or xm or wherever that we txt each other "fast movin' train". Wish country was as awesome today as it was when the newbies were sparkles in their parents' eyes.
“ I doubted if she would even be around when the morning comes” “I waited till she fell asleep to whisper, baby look what you’ve done” chills every time.
Tonight I saw a red, red rose in a yellow moon. Shinning on a silhouette lying in the shadows of my bedroom......... LOVE these lyrics!!! This is an incredible song. I still get chills listening to this song after all these years.
@@bluedogok I worked radio as a Gavin Music Reporter when Tim Dubois was at Arista Records. Diamond Rio, Pam Tillis, Steve Wariner and Alan Jackson were all in the label then. Great times! Tim's son Chris Dubois is the guitar player for Brad Paisley.
@@gregrowe1168 I am a HUGE FAN OF STEVE WARINER TOO! Steve opened for Hank Jr. at the 4 States Fair Entertainment Center and I was working radio so I gave my Hank Jr. Backstage passes to fans and THIS STEVE FAN went back to meet him. What a great, humble, talented man!
This song was a best friend of mine favorite and boý could he ever sing it as well..his life became completed and he turned to drugs and soon the streets of Ontario became his home ...eventually falling faster untill it took his life...i think of him whenever I hear this song...you are gone but not forgotten...,Rip my friend untill we meet again
Larry Stewart one of the best voices in country. You dont know what your missing until you listen to restless heart. I went out with a girl once that was a fast moving train. Oh Boy...
Larry Stewart is unbelievably good, but without Paul Gregg (bass player) he would not be as good as he is. Paul is the best back vocalist I have ever heard in country music.
I love Restless Heart's rendition of "Fast Movin' Train", written by Dave Loggins, second-cousin of singer-songwriter Kenny Loggins. Dave Loggins was also known for his chart hit, "Please Come to Boston."
Working my tail off to make a living at 23 yrs old when this song came out ..smh....hit the honky tonks once in awhile..once a month...time flies...unreal....
This song… brings back memories of my boyfriend Gary he was a truck driver and we went together on and off for 20 years…. he passed away two years ago November and took half my heart with him. but this song was like right at the height and the heat of our romance and when I found this song When I found this song just recently, it brought back a lot of memories and a flood of tears……. I am may not have him, but I will always have the memories ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ !!!!!! His mom said he should have married me, and not who he married - Oh, well……..
My family and I saw this wonderful group play at an agricultural fair in Maine one summer back in the 90's........waited for this song, a full moon out, saw the twinkle in my wife's eyes......wow...felt and still feel so blessed
I was dancing this with a girl, I said I LOVE this song. She was upset that the lyrics were sad or about temporary love or whatever. I said I don't care what the lyrics say in any song, when they sound like this!!
Welcome to 80's Country. We called many of the artists the class of 89 as many of them were just coming out and topping the charts well into the 2000's. I am not crazy about mainstream country right now but they have some amazing diamonds among the coal💟
Tonight I saw the red red rose In a yellow moon Shining on a silhouette Lying in the shadows of my bedroom I knew it when we made love And I couldn't quit calling her name!
I loved listening to this song with my Papa (grandfather) when I was a kid. I lost him in December 2017, but I will see him again when I get to Heaven and every time I listen to this song it reminds me of the good times I spent with him.
Real music, not this junk they throw on us today. People called this pop country and adult contemporary- well they had no idea what was to come. I'll take Restless Heart over Kane Brown any damn day.
Lol. This is still bubble gum pop country. And in 20 uears, some dude is gonna bitch about new country music. Never fails. There always has been pop music in country. That's how it survived the rock and roll onslaught. The Nashville sound. And yes,I like restless heart, but they are the very definition of 80s pop country
@@willthorson4543 I totally agree with your statement, but this is still hard core country compared to the likes of todays country.I wont say names of new singers because I dont know any,and they all sound alike.
This song will always remind me of a forbidden fling and us both knowing I was going to leave then when it came time for me to go it was hard for him and to this day he still tries to get in touch with me, our time together was intense and I do miss it.
