Hi! Today there is a unique restoration. My subscriber sent an old very rusted axe head from Australia. He discovered it while working at his house. The head of the axe is covered with a thick layer of earth, rust. Well, I'm starting to restore the tool!
The first thing I did - use a knife to remove the surface earth and rust from the axe. Then, for two days, axe placed in a rust remover liquid.
Therefore, the axe was transferred to water with soda to neutralize the acid. The head of the axe turned out to be very corroded, but the cutting edge was preserved. By the way, who knows what kind of model the American axe is, please leave a comment.
Next, I cleaned the surface of axe again with with sandblaster, treated it with an iron brush and sharpened it again. I cleaned the eye of the axe with sandpaper. I did not process the surface - I do not need gloss.
Next, the handle of the axe. I chose an old dry tree for this. I cut out the right shape for the handle. I chose a wooden wedge for the axe, and used epoxy resin for additional fixation and protection from moisture.
A day later, I gave the handle the right shape, soaked it with wax. I also made leather sheath from genuine leather. And as usual, I conducted a very interesting and delicious test for you. Please be sure to share this video.
As for the recipe of the dish:
I used pork 1kg. Salt and pepper. Dry red Kakhetian wine and onions. The shish kebab should not be fried until fully cooked and will stop at 80%. Remove from the skewer, put this undercooked meat, onion and 350 ml of dry wine in a saucepan. Simmer over medium heat for 15-17 minutes. Then serve on the table. Enjoy your meal!
