In the video I didn't clearly show what's going on with the plastic container. I bought this new because the old one couldn't be restored. It was just too badly damaged
That kind of revolver is meant for small candies like runts. The one for gum balls have round holes and 3 springs like 22 degrees facing up to revolve well the gum balls. But I loved the video, brought me memories when I had like 100 of those !! 😅
I do, and I really enjoy the significant transformation of how it was at the beginning. And it looks as good as new after the fabulous work is all done!
@@cherryfantas actually i was serious. And right after i left this comment, my dad actually called me. Then he came over and we played catch until noon the next day. #STFU
It's easier than you think... I think. I've been able to reassemble my ps4 pro after a full teardown for cleaning. The hard part is figuring out how it all comes apart sometimes. Oh and screws I sometimes hate screws.
@@kiana.vharvey Yes and no. Clearly he did restorations before deciding to record, edit and produce these gems for us. Clearly the man 1) has a great tinkerer mind 2) can probably figure things out naturally
The attention to detail is inhuman. Even refinishing the metal blemishes that otherwise wouldn't even be seen. The pinnacle of restoration mastery. I know you are proud of your work, and the master who trained you is also. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
thank you so much for your comment I am so happy to hear that my videos have that effect on you 😊❤ But there was never a master, I taught myself everything😅. Anyone who wants to do something can do it.😊
I think this man learned on his own . It just like anything u do the same way it us taken a part is the same way he puts it back together. Just some people won't take the time or put in the work like he does. And if someone did show him very good Teacher. But that's alot of money going in to that . I have one from the 1950 it glass and metal doesn't work but just to pay this man probably would be more then $200 I would think
Even as a little kid, I strongly believed these machines to be unsafe, unsanitary, and highly susceptible to dangerous tampering. You've done a great job with this restoration--thank you for sharing.
I saw what kids did to the gumball machine and the restaurant I went to. I was in shock that parents allowed their kids to put the gum in their mouths. No handwashing not even sanitizing I was so grossed out
Such incredible & wonderful restoring of a fun, classic, neat machine that will never go out of style!! It’s wonderful, brilliant people like you who truly bring light & joy back into our lives and hearts. Thank you so much for restoring this iconic classic!!
Those paint jobs are just insane! I love old fashioned gum ball machines. You restored this one amazingly! Wow you are so talented, aside from everything cool, I was impressed even to watch you make that screw!
Attention to detail is often a hallmark of outstanding craftsmanship, and it's clear that the restorer put a lot of care and effort into the project. Polishing a hidden nut might seem like a small detail, but it speaks to the commitment to excellence in the restoration process. Thank you for recognizing and appreciating the dedication that goes into such work! 😊🛠️👏
I believe this is a Brabo machine (Belgian, made in ANtwerp, named after the famous Brabo legend). This machine is from the 70's, on later models plastic was more used instead of metal for some parts. The "screw"on top was originally a lock screw, so you could only unscrew it with a key. These machined used to be in supermarkets. I have the quad version of it, on a stand. Nice restauration !
@@MWRestoration thank you. In fact, it is a child trauma :) My mum never allowed me nor my siblings any of those chewing gums or little toys, so when I was around 45 (I’m born in 1973), I bought a quadruple machine to make up for that trauma :) Sadly my mum had passed away already by then.
@@hansdegeytere The chewing gum was never that appealing because it always looked like it had been in there for a year. But I would be interested in one of these machines for decoration in the house.
It can't often be said, that this was a phenomenal restoration. There are so many people on RU-vid who have no idea what they're doing, this was absolutely magic. And so very well done. Probably my 4th or 5th time watching it it's a real pleasure to see somebody who's a master at work.
At that time it was often the case that young people burned holes in the gumball machines for fun. For the owners of a gumball machine office it was a great loss.
Man, the nostalgia is strong in this one. Loved those when I was a kid in the 90s, it always felt like a little 'adventure' getting something out of those machines.
I love restoration videos so many amazing vintage things get thrown out because it no longer works but i love that people are taking the time to restore them and reduce wastage
Thank you so much for sharing. I watched with my 5 year old and he said excitedly..."ok, he needs to show me how to do this!" It's very gratifying to get my kids excited for making/restoring things.
First time seeing this channel and I have no knowledge in restoration, paint or machines so everything in this video was mind blowing to me and kept pulling out things I’ve never seen before. Even learnt how these bubblegum machines work now. definitely found a new way to relax on RU-vid and subscribing😭
I like it how you restore one part at a time. Instead of breaking the whole thing into pieces and the viewers are all confused where which spring a screw came from. Very clear and entertaining!
That's a fantastic job of restoration you did on the machine, especially with the red paint! It brings back memories for me! Practically every week for 20 years I was doing something like this - usually just cleaning them. I had a Vending Machine route of similar machines, Norwest Model 60, with either the same plastic globe or a glass globe. My machines had a removable product chute on them, and on top was a keylock rather than the more basic screw lock top you designed, that's what the ridges inside the top cover lock depression are for.
A perfect restoration. I love that you completely stripped the piece down and meticulously cleaned, straightened, polished etc. every part. Some restorers don’t do that, but to me it is essential. Beautifully done!
You are truly a MASTER in what you do with your restorations. Thanks for sharing your videos that always leave me in AWE! Greetings from Albuquerque, New Mexico USA!
Excellent work. I used to have a rectangle one, every time I did a chore right I got a penny to get a gum all. I miss those childhood delights thank you for the reminder and I am glad I subscribed to your channel. ❤
Gumball machines remind many of us of our childhood. I am very pleased that you liked the video. Thank you for your subscription. Greetings from Germany
Wow 😳 Fantastische Restauration!👍 Nicht nur sind diese Automaten sehr dekorativ, alte wie dieser im video sind teil der Kindheit vieler Menschen und mittlerweile selten. Super daß du einen gerettet hast! 🥰
This is how restoration videos should be edited! I watch a lot of other channels but I don’t like seeing 3 seconds of a screw being tweezed out or a rubber turtle. Great job! I love your videos!❤❤
So schön, dass ich dich gefunden habe. Ich folge hier einigen Restauratoren aus aller Welt, aber hier bin ich wirklich glücklich. Kein Pfusch, mega Equipment, top Ergebnisse. Danke dafür ❤ So glad I found you. I follow some restorers from all over the world, but I'm really happy here. No botch, professional equipment, perfect results. Thank you ❤
Although I am from a different country, I remember a gumball pulling machine that feels similar to putting coins in and pulling out beads-shaped gum when I was young, so I reminisce about the past for a while. There's really nothing but exclamations in your resilience. Thank you for reminding me of my old memories, and I wish you all the best at the same time.
I like how he's painting it,sanding it, it's so cool how he's doing everything it is also satisfying i have this mini one at my house i bought it of kmart i like white blue red cyan light blue.I know its weird about me talking my favorite colors at the same time as im talking about the satisfying stuff i know i didn't have explain it but it's for you guys.
This restoration made me genuinely happy. I never saw one of these nachines in pristine condition before. Each an every one that still exists on the roadsides looks like this one did before you restored it :'(
Your attention to detail is absolutely amazing. Let's hope you never decide to be a serial killer cuz you'd definitely get away with it. 😱 Thank you for sharing your amazing process.
LG
