Good Job! You need to make another hole for exhaust of air and fumes. put a wire mesh in the fan to keep debris or any mice/insects out of the air intake.

Putting the generator in the box is going to be fatal..it will over heat..trust me..I've seen it done before..but nice restoration..you can ship it to me in the box..lol..

I was thinking exactly the same thing, he did a great job cleaning everything, but putting it in a box will destroy the generator. Every other manufacturer of generators keeps everything exposed and open in order to keep the engine from overheating. Sealing an air-cooled engine up like that is certain doom for it. The gasoline stored in the box being heated might provide some entertainment after an hour or so ;-)

You need to vent the exhaust and have ventilation for the motor, or you will kill that motor. Other than that it was a great restoration!

For me it seems that I buried it in his garden and after a reasonable time of a few months I take it out because the sheet is still in good condition and the motor and generator coils seem to have not been damaged by time and then I wonder : Why would someone throw away something that with just a few retouching can be used again. It's strange, isn't it? Anyway it was a good cleaning job, not adequate for a machine like this but finally good cleaning.
