Particularly, for a collector, rusty as it was...it was more beautiful. All you had to do was place it inside a glass box and bingo! Perfect.

Well he use pigments from pastels and other colours to simulate the corrosion ( enamels are perfect to use because once they are dry the "peel" off as if the paint was ruined by the rust). But there lots of ways to make them abandoned and ruined, like putting them in damp earth for a couple of days, breaking some parts ( but not in a way that would make the car unrepairable), adding weathering colours (there's ton of them form AK and other brands specialized in this field) to enhance the ageing effect. He has some experience as a model maker so he knows how to do it, the only issue is that he do it to die-cast models and this ruin the effect imho, because they have a body made from an aluminium alloy so they can't really "rust" and it shows when he restores them, but since this is just for fun you can allow it.

Could be placing it in a container of citric acid or any acid with high pH to give it that rust and burying it in the yard with wet soil

It's not rust

Yes, they weathered the model on purpose. They probably bought and assembled it a week before shooting the video. And yeah, the rust is just brown paint and dirt from their garden. And yeah, the plastic interior parts weren't actually cleaned, they were just taken from the second box that they bought at the same time as the first, and kept off-camera to use for replacements. But you know what? It's still pretty satisfying to watch it all come together. :P

I found they are a man , but also in other videos it's actual rust. With the technology he has, he could've used chemical processes to speed up the process of rusting. Anyways, thanks for clearing it up, I was stumped on how he faked it.

From the model, before he “damages” it. This is not a real restoration but a repaint and detailing. And a very good one that is, so I am not dismissing the video and the effort at all. I really enjoy his videos and the end result is excellent.
