The work was done very well from start to finish. I am a furniture upholsterer by trade. So I pay attention to details. You are a young man and you have a decent job in your hands. Bravo.
If I had been a woodworm in that chair, I would have said "Damn; I'm moving to some place nicer" long before you used the worm killer. Not the most beautiful piece you have restored, but your workmanship is excellent. Great video.
for sure, this restoration and the video itself are far from standard procedures; but the outcome looks good. even though I don't know what is special about this chair.
El proceso estuvo muy interesante;pero también es cierto que hay partes irrecuperables teniendo herramientas sofisticadas lo lógico es confeccionar una nueva pieza. Saludos desde Perú🇵🇪
Hey @IlMakerstauratore - you should really do a collaboration with @leaw - as they have some window shutters they need restoring. Would be so great to see you all do a joint video or two :) Ciao dal Oregon!
It still is in my opinion the chair still looks awful epoxy or new wood combined with the old is the only thing that can save this not to mention that he didn’t use a wood planer or a lathe either so it’s still going to remain sucky
Maybe if this was the chair that Ivan the Terrible or Napoleon or somebody always sat on to warm himself by the hearth, maybe then I'd think it was worth the time and effort to restore. The techniques and materials employed were quite interesting, though. I'd never heard of paraloid wood hardener. LaserPecker is a new one to me also. That might be a good nickname for this guy that I know, assuming he has not been exaggerating.
I was asked if I could save this little chair, I tried. However, the important thing is that You found something interesting, that makes me happy. With the laser I went very lightly this time😊
Ammirevole perche' partendo da un oggetto praticamente quasi non lavorabile, sei riuscito ad ottenere un risultato gradevole mantenendo anche tutto il documento intessuto nel passato delle fibre centenarie del mobile.
This chair must have extraordinary sentimental value to have put all that effort into it. How much of the original piece is left though after all the hardener, filler and glue? And where is the original bright blue paint, the nicest part of the thing to begin with?
Przepiękne jest to krzesło odrestaurowane ale ja bym na pana miniscu dał większość nowych desek i świerzo zrobione kołki okrągłe bo to prawie wszystko jest spruchniałe pozdrawiam serdecznie 👍👍👍👍
Fun to play with new laser printer. Looks great your logo on chair bottom, too. Excellent repairs, quality stain match and just the right finish. Hoping you and family doing fine. It's been a while but worth waiting for. Looks like you are at your "fighting weight" -- slim, trim. Stay safe, healthy, reasonably happy and enjoy peace of mind. 💯💪🎉❤️😊
everything is fine with the family, thank you, I hope the same for you. Thank you for the support you give me, I really appreciate it. I send you a hug😊
Outstanding work. Please let me know when you do more resin-stabilized pieces. We have a product here in the states called Cactus Juice if you care to research it. It seems like it would be ideal for woodworm damage stabilization.
I have had to sit on the same type of chair while in primary school some 40 years ago.. what I remember from it was the usage of the two pieces of planks to make the seat.. and then when the chair got old and wobbled, the piece of planks would pinch your thigh.. it was very painful.. so to use two pieces, one has to make sure the legs are sturdy and doesn't move at all.. ha ha.
