I repair consoles, and I'm still amazed to see youtube allowing fake content. For those who still doubt, plastic cases don't rust.

Ridiculous. A console from 2002 just happened to be lying in a field covered in "rust". Also, the cleaning a hard drive by dropping it into a bucket of water was especially hilarious.

This man is quite an artist, he manages to paint all kinds of plastic as if it were metallic oxide.

Amazing restoration! All they needed was some spraypaint and another perfectly working xbox to pull the parts from.

This feels like the whole thing was a set up

Spoiler: the entire thing was filmed in reverse

1. You take running Xbox and record last part of movie. 2. You throw that xbox into river. 3. You record how you find it and record cleaning process. Thats how these videos are made, yes still almost 3mln view - amazing.

WoW! So amazing how all of these treasures are just laying around out in the mud. I have been buying electronics from big stores for years and to know now that all I had to do was look in my backyard after a rainstorm and I could have found all that I ever needed, threw the stuff in the dishwasher, set to rapid dry and BAMM I have a new device. Pure magic...

Amazing how a plastic shell can recover from such awful rusting. Truly remarkable.

Should have spray painted it before you hid it in the mud out back. The mud would have come off more easily when cleaning it. I would also have left the hard drive in the water a lot longer as it makes the disk spin faster when it’s full of water. I do have to give you kudos on adding more solder to points you were already seeing a measurement on. More solder will have given more conductivity on an already conductive path. Genius.

His pre mud application is getting better, much improved on past videos. Also the luckiest man on the planet, finds all this random stuff laying around lol. Plus all that mud and water, yet every terminal and trace corrosion free. The man is a miracle!!!!!!

Wow, he is a fantastic electronics specialist. He checks the multilayer mainboard and the power supply with only a multimeter and without a circuit diagram. And he finds and repairs all faults on this complex hardware…magical 😉

0:35 OK, even the most optimistic electrician on the planet could tell you that thing is beyond hope. And yes I watched all the way to the end. You cannot "clean" a hard disc drive that way and have it work. Also the motherboard is swapped out for a different one in the video, just pay close attention folks.

Recuerdo tener mi xbox clásica, la dejé de usar por que desbarató 2 teles, pero el xbox jalaba bien, pero lo tube que dejar guardado y pasaron años eso fue a los 10 y ahora tengo 21, lo había dejado guardado para algún día volverlo a poner y jugar con el, y un día unos de mis tíos fue a mi casa, me pidió el xbox para calarlo y mi lado bueno le dijo si osea lo había guardado por años, se lo llevo y fui a ver como había funcionado y la sorpresa fue que ese día que se lo preste al siguiente día lo tiraron ala basura pero si jalaba y desde aii dije que jamas prestaría mis cosas y lo peor era mi primer consola, así de triste fue mi historia💔💔

Just so everyone knows you could wash electronics just wait for it to dry. (also make sure that it is not powered on in the first place during cleaning) And of course everyone knows this but plastic can’t rust.

This was the xbox i used to play on during world war 2 when we were fighting the japanese in burma, our barracks got bombed and i thought that xbox was gone forever, glad you restored it to full functionality, i remember playing halo infinite on that machine back in 1944

The one component I don't believe for one second that could be restored in that condition is the laser assembly. Very fine and delicate wiring and not to mention the lens.

Amazing what you can do with a screwdriver, water, scrubbing brush, paint and a nearly new Xbox. Setting the screws on fire also helps 😉

This HAD to be a bait and switch. They planted the fake, muddy Xbox, bring it home, toss it in the soap water, take their own Xbox apart, spray it, make it look nice, reassemble and LOOK! You got a functioning Xbox with games already installed!

Not sure why this video is still up, but I guess it's entertainment...enjoy my like because that's all I'll be leaving here. Plastic doesn't grow barnacles, and it doesn't oxidize. You cannot repair this damage once it is done, unless you reduce all the components to the base materials and rebuild it.

Honestly, I'm not sure why someone spends time dirtying up (it's always been steeped in mud it seems) game consoles to look bad, clean the mess you made, and pretend that it's suddenly working? Is this an ASMR thing? That's all I can think of. The time spent just doesn't make any sense. Unless, of course, it's specifically for people like me who "interact" with the channel and generate revenue for them... Hopefully they aren't using these videos to scam people on ebay or something.

Amazing talent, is very difficult to paint Xbox to look like natural rusty metal chassi. And lot of job, to put this stuff inside console.

I felt my heart just stop when I saw all those circuit boards get hosed. The calcium in the water will definitely eat away at those connection ports and metal components.

My favourite bit (there are many) is when he pokes with the multimeter at the corners of a QFP IC. Like he’d have a clue what the pins are for. It’s such bullshit it’s entertaining to gasp at the nerve of someone to pass this detritus off as real.
