Helped broker a deal for some HPM 1500s, which are, to my knowledge, the European version of the HPM 150. They were factory fresh in the boxes. Only thing wrong with them was the deteriorated foam surrounding the woofer. A few hundred dollars later, they look like they were sitting on the showroom floor. Spectacular looking speakers, and they stole the show at the vintage audio swap meet where they were debuted publicly. Thanks, Doug!
I always wondered how the high range driver sounded ? I have a pair of the HPM 500's, and they use a JBL looking slot high range driver. My speakers sound fantastic for a bookshelf. Not as powerful as my 100's. But I think the 500's sound better.
I just snagged me a pair of HPM 1500 for $30. Hope to get them to look as nice and hopefully find a pair of original subs for them. Best money I spent in a while though.
@@QAudio I just so happen to get lucky and found them at the thrift store I go to from time to time. Was the only thing I found that day, but definitely made the year a great on.
@@QAudio I was in Quiapo Manila where all the electronic shops are a few years ago. You can buy all the raw speaker parts you want. Bought some reinforced cones and surrounds. Installed them. I can't tell a difference in sound.
