Hello folks! Today I want to show you my new restoration project. This old rusty billhook I found at flea market. The surface of tool was very rusted. This billhook is also called a corn axe. Well, time to restore it!
Restoration process:
First I used electrolysis process for remove rust and dirty, then I used anglegrinder machine via iron brush. For handle, I chose old piece of nut wood and via lathe wood machine sharpened the handle for my new axe tool. For handle, I used also linseed oil. To connect handle and shank I used a lot of epoxy glue. Bolster I made of brass, also added lining of leather. Finally I sharpened it and made interesting test for you.
