The Indiana Jones Spectacular was always a welcome relief from walking around the park and standing in line, even for a young teen.

When the park opened in 1989, the backlot tour was actually a working backlot. The Golden Girls exterior was filmed on the backlot along with other films such as Ernest Save Christmas was filmed there as well.
@Cargo_Bay
@Cargo_Bay 16 дней назад
@@eugenetown16 the filming of golde girls exterior was probably done on one single day and used throughout the entire run of the show.

I Miss the Old Disney-MGM Studios! To Me, Disney's Hollywood Studios will always be called Disney-MGM Studios. It's Just to Remind Myself What this Place was in the Past.

@DisneyDave Thank you for posting this. I was the tour guide on the back lot tour. I have looked on RU-vid for years to find me doing this. At the time I was 22 years old....Now 50 so this was great to see. I saw a prior comment, and i aggree i felt like it wasn't my best performance, but i think you are right, i just started in 1995 and left the back lot tour in the spring of 1996. 😀 Do you happen to know the rough date this filmed? Again, thanks for posting, brought back tons of memories of working at MGM!

Hey Brian, Great to hear you are the tour guide, You don't know how much this pleases me, Ive been waiting and hoping for years that a cast member would comment on one of my videos saying this it them, So happy that it's finally happened, and, you did a great job, Ive always had complete admiration for Cast members as you all do amazing work, Re when this was filmed, I think (although not 100%!) this may have been filmed around September 1995, We generally always visited around this time of the year, also great to hear this has brought back tons of memories for you while working at MGM, and yes I still call it MGM! Thanks you so much for commenting on the video

@@DisneyDave awesome I think in September I would have been at it about 2 months. Thanks for the recognition. I’ve watched the video a few times and I still can remember segments. I as well call it MGM and will forever. I love all the videos you post, keep up the great work. It’s like going back in time to see all the old rides at the other parks as well.

Thanks for replying, at least that one went through ok! I sent a fairly lengthy comment. It is quite hard for me, as I'm totally blind in one eye, so disappointed it wasn't posted. Firstly it was to say thank you for uploading your video. I'm from the UK and first visited WDW in 1998. I really enjoyed MGM, it just seemed so exciting to me. Obviously The Great Movie Ride, my favourite and only ride I did, not into fast rides, preferred the shows. I was lucky enough to visit the following year for the Millennium. Saw the Osborne Family Lights, amazing! I last visited in 2013, when it was still MGM. From what I've viewed, live streams and vlogs, I don't think H.S. would be for me. I'm not into S.W. If people are, they must think 'they've died and gone to heaven!' However even I can appreciate the theming. I guess it's probably because I'm an 'oldie,' and don't really like change. Sometimes change isn't always for the best! Hope this comment goes through ok, not typing another one.

I do have to wonder why the sliding gate on the Tower of Terror ride vehicle was left open? Every other POV I've seen(even 1994) has it shut during the ride.
@212Elevators
@212Elevators 8 дней назад
I think the gate was manual at the time, according to a 1994 video where the bellhop can be seen sliding it manually, then when they replaced the lap bars may be when they changed the gate to be pneumatic, where the ride cannot start unless the gate is closed.

Great job with the restoration effort. What software was used to restore?
@DisneyDave
@DisneyDave 19 дней назад
@northridgewood5918, I used Virtual dub to transfer the original files to Digital, Then I run the video through Topaz Video AI and the the final part comes in the editing process, where I improve the quality and colour with general tweaking of the video and adding a LUT, Hope this helps 👍

Re. comment being deleted. Having googled this, it appears this is a fairly common problem, something to do with algorithms. As an 'oldie' beyond me! It happened to me again last night, on another channel, that I left a perfectly fine comment on. Not a 'happy bunny!'
